The summit of the future 27th- 28th August 2024 at the OIC Conference Center.
"The future belong to those who prepare for it today".The Summit of the Future is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to enhance cooperation on critical challenges and address gaps in global governance.
Over 200 young people from different organization, CSO, Youth Groups and Stakeholders, who are privileged to participated at The Gambia National Youth Consultation on the Summit of the future organized by UN Gambia in partnership with Ministry of Youth and Sports, influencing The Gambia's Position on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SDG's are the building block of ideas and innovation. So it's a challenge to speak boldy, speak freely and know that our contribution will be life changing not only to The Gambia but the world at large.
The Summit is focusing on five thematic areas:
- Innovation and Climate Change
- Gender Equity to Empower Girls and Young
- Bridging the Digital Divide
- Global Governance (Human Rights and Political Processes)
- Empowerment (Employment, Education, Wellbeing)
This Summit will give participants an opportunity to prepare and validate an actionable document that will be negotiated and endorsed by countries during the September 2024 Summit in New York, fostering a more resilient global community for current and future generations.

As we are have witness the end of 2023, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers( GRCS) for your outstanding contributions to national and community development. Let this coming year be another year full of joy, laughters and unforgettable memories, progress over perfection, and savour every victory we make along the way to our goals.
To our staff's, take a moment to reflect on how much you have guided us in accomplishing our goals in 2023, and there is no limit to what you can do in 2024. We could not have effectively contributed to the success of our goals without your support and technical guidance.
To our parents, we will take this opportunity to thank them for giving us the guidance and opportunity to serve humanity.
We want you all to support the ongoing process of change in Youth work and development efforts, let us stay Focused and remain true to each other.

The Gambia Red Cross Society in partnership with the UN Volunteers, Volnet and The University of The Gambia has celebrated the international Volunteer day that take place every year on 5th December. It’s an opportunity to celebrate and thank people all around the world who dedicate their precious time and efforts to voluntary service and raise awareness on the importance of their valuable contributions.
Our National Youth Chairperson Ismaila Sonko ,who was part of the panel discussion has described the celebration as a time to reflect on how precious our incredible volunteers who saved lives and strive for our shared humanity every single day .
Volunteerism can feel overwhelming but there is hope in the form of countless acts of kindness from one person to another. Whenever and wherever there is crisis, there is Red Cross Volunteers ready to support those affected. Their commitment never wavers, and their compassion has no limits.

The competition aimed to promote regional unity, encourage knowledge development and sharing, and provide a platform for participants to demonstrate their proficiency in First Aid. These participants gave their best to showcase their First Aid knowledge and practical skills, and the teamwork and unity displayed were truly marvelous.
The Gambia Red Cross Society National Youth Commission hosted the National First Aid Competition 2.0 on September 9, 2023, Metzy Residence Hotel. The competition aimed to foster regional unity, encourage knowledge development, sharing, and provide a platform for participants to demonstrate their proficiency in First Aid.
