“Side hustle” pitching day for ONX PoC .onx acceleration week!

Back in April we pitched our project idea that was selected amongst more than 120 applicants. Following that we got in the final 8 projects that moved to the acceleration week, a week full of mentoring and peer to peer discussions. Yesterday we were honoured enough to pitch our project to the board of Onassis Stegi .stegi for a chance to fund the development of a prototype.

“Side Hustle” is a VR gaming experience that explores labor ethics utilising technology and imagination. We aim to create an immersive game that challenges traditional labour notions and explores equal models beyond individualism.

During our lives, we transform into a reflection of our environment, embodying the essence of a particular place or landscape. There exists a shared connection between us and the land we inhabit, a bond forged through mutual experiences and interactions.
We designed our sign not as just a mere symbol of our space, but a symbol of our connection with our surroundings, the people, the community and the streets of Athens.
ESTO Association doesn’t stand alone. It’s a cell, part of a map, of a root system, of a neurological or mycelium network. It's on the bank of an urban stream, connected into a larger flow of individuals and spaces. We want to connect and exist together, reflecting our collective aspiration for unity within our shared environment. It’s part of our wish.

Paparać Kvietka is the name of a non-existing fern flower from Belarusian folklore, that embodies the essence of sudden miracles and mystical wisdom. According to Belarusian mythology, Paparać Kvietka blooms fleetingly on the eve of the summer solstice (Kupala night) emitting a powerful glow. For one to obtain its mystical powers, one “has to wander alone in the forest during that night. It is necessary to injure the palm, squeeze the flower in that palm and head home. The evil force will shout, roar, frighten, but there is no need to look back. Having received a fern-flower, a person will acquire the ability to see what is invisible to others, and will become wise.”

Katia She (legovich) Her, through the story of paparać kvietka, reflects on her homeland as a distant memory that after years of immigration comes to her mind elusively as a place of ancestral wisdom and mystical connotations. Having to face Belarusian authoritarian reality, Katia reimagines Belarus as a metaphorical wet forest where ancestral wisdom, feminine witch energy, memories and irregularities are intertwined. It is an ethereal woodland adorned with fern blossoms and a tumultuous lake at the heart of the forest which keeps everything alive, embodying the spirit of a resilient people.

Inge Maria is an accomplished artist and graphic designer based in Den Hague and she is currently graduating from the Royal Academy of Art The Hague. We're excited to have Inge on board, bringing her unique perspective and creativity to our studio.

A workshop that explores walking as a research method to come up with unexpected urban narratives.

Introducing approaches of mapping the urban experience, to inspire participants to walk on ordinary territories and discover their own angle of the city.

DAY 2
Editing the collected findings into the form of a map, and experimenting with visual storytelling to challenge the way we see Exarchia.

Brand developmenent for Thetis concept store in Glyfada, Athens.

Thetis (Greek: Θέτις [tʰétis]) is a figure of Greek mythology with various mythological roles. She appears mainly as a sea nymph, goddess of water or as one of the 50 Nereids, daughters of the ancient sea god Nereus.

The Thetis concept store is named after Nereid because of its location: it is located in Glyfada, a seaside area of Athens, but also because it makes a pun on the word "Theto" θέτω, which means place or define, representing the interior design values for the creation of a space.

Our ongoing collaboration with the Thetis concept store in Glyfada includes so far the development of the brand and the online store. For the concept, we tried to connect the ancient with the contemporary, the palette of Greek islands with the materiality of urban space, the large monolithic logo with modern and clean fonts.

ULTRASONIC INFRACRIES

Is our social reality actually less brutal and aggressive than the epidemic mental disorders we clinically treat?

The present conceptual group art exhibition explores relations between the symptomatology of manic depression and cultural tactics in contemporary capitalism, from the point of the psyche of the subject in them. It is the diploma thesis of the curator, who studies in The School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete, and it constitutes their attempt to connect the alienating experience of the disease with the social reality in order to be liberated from it through comprehension.

Τhe experience of manic-depressive spectrum becomes the occasion for a curation that recognizes rampant inductive though loops, suicidal ideations, disputed self-confidence, addictive pleasures in dysphoria in artistic practices of creators who study the current. This is not an exhibition of the 'mentally ill' and argues for a visibility on the aesthetics of thought. The artist’s work here refers to how the subjects internally respond to the contemporary technocratic capitalist situation and negotiate with their identity.

The space of Esto Association and its individual elements, in dialogue with the artworks and their topology, incorporates the manifestation of the curatorial discourse.
