Mastered up enough courage to attend the last day of AthensCon and I was lucky enough to meet and greet with lovely Chrissy Mourns dressed up as an amazing Bon Clay.🥰 (Which is one of my most favorite One Piece characters).

I truly wish and hope that she could visit us again! It was fun talking to her both about cosplay and food and I do hope that she got her chance to have our most famous food before she could leave. :3

Today marks a year since Kazuki Takahashi's passing, (4th July 2022). Even though a whole year has passed, it still feels and hurts like it was yesterday.

He was an artist, a creator of worlds, someone who invented one of the most popular card games, someone who loved his work and was passionate about it, but above all, he was a human who firmly followed his ideals till the end.

He gave us Yu-Gi-Oh, first as a manga, then as an anime and later on as a card game. Many of us grew up with all 3, our childhood was shaped from it and the ideals he masterfully got through his story. He was always an advocate for games, friendship, righteousness and self-sacrifice.

Some of us found a community to belong to and made friends, others drew inspiration from his creations, some enjoyed playing the card game the most, but regardless of which direction each of us decided to go, we still share the love for the world he created and the ideals he held on to, till the end. He had a very strong impact in our lives, but most importantly, we came to love and respect him rather than simply idolize him.

I will never forget him and I hope that nobody else will. Despite being someone great and leaving behind a legacy, he is now part of history and I do hope that he will always be respected and remembered, just like all the other dead anyone may have, whether they were family or felt like family. We should remember that he sacrificed himself in order to help save people who were drowning in the sea, something that is rare to see from people who became famous. May his memory always live within our hearts and minds.

Happy July. And what better way to welcome the new month than by introducing -again-the Barefoot Witch? (yep, that's how she's named)

To enlighten you, she's a carefree red-haired witch that won't wear shoes. She has a small feline as her familiar and loves riding her broom to go anywhere she wants, without ever touching the ground with her bare feet -unless it's for bathing in crystal clear waters of the river located in the forest she resides in, where no human will be around to bother her.

I remember having fun at this con, especially on the cosplay parade. I wonder if it's time to finally upgrade this armor...or try on a new one.

My deceased uncle also enjoyed that con. It's a pity he left and I won't be able to bring him to enjoy any more cons. This is how things dramatically change from one moment to another.

Those Barbie Posters are a brilliant marketing idea for the movie, don't you think? Barbie girl still cares for us, even in the meme world....anyways, what do you think about a barbie that plays card games and sends her opponents to the shadow realm? I'd buy it now if it were to come out....how about you?

Since it's the celebration of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG's 25th Anniversary, it's a very good opportunity to show off my mixed Yu-Gi-Oh! collection again (or rather, most of what would fit in the pic). As you know, I'm a die-hard Yu-Gi-Oh! fan since I was a kid watching the show and playing the game that could instantly have all the teachers chasing after us to confisticate the decks and the cards during school breaks. Those were the days...

Anyways, fast forward to the present, I'm happy that I've managed to collect most of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and merch and even craft on my own those I couldn't find (mostly props, plushies and of course the Dark Magician Girl's cosplay costume).

It was a dream come true back in September of 2021 that I managed to complete the detailed version of my Dark Magician Girl cosplay, including crafting the kuriboh brothers plushies, the magic formula, the dark magical circle, the millennium puzzle, the millennium sarcophagus, the magical hats (sadly, not visible in the photo, they're used to place the rest of the collection on) and recently, magic cylinder (not included here, but it is included in the 25th anniversary tribute video I did for Yu-Gi-Oh and especially Dark Magician Girl who is by far my favorite duel monster in the series and the game).

Makes me happy and proud that I am part of this game's and show's fanbase and it makes me super happy that they've chosen Dark Magician Girl as one of the most iconic duel monsters to promote part of the 25th Anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh!'s TCG in merch.

Though, Kazuki Takahashi's passing came as the most shocking news back in 6th July 2022. He gave us a world we grew up with and loved and keeps on inspiring us. Knowing that he passed away as a hero, true to his convictions and what he has been illustrating in the manga and the game he created which we all loved so deeply, soothed the pain of losing him a bit, but it didn't completely erase it. This creates a bittersweet feeling, knowing that the creator of the francize you grew up with and loved is no longer around, but his creation is still here. So, the very least we -the fans- can do, is to remember him with every opportunity, be it a tribute, be it playing the cardgame or collecting memorabilia, be it watching the show again or reading the manga and keep his example bright, following it and making sure more will join.
