Parisian café and bistro advertisement match holder and striker.In the 1920’s a customer would use it to light up their cigarette or prepare their absinthe drink .
Today however, they are usually used in the home as an eclectic and useful home décor item .
To feel a bit like a time traveler an
Absinthe spoon is one of those key details.
Absinthe spoons are simply used for placing a sugar cube on.
Absinthe, a spirit obtained by the maceration and then distillation of plants at 68º to 72º, has no sugar added to the bottle. In order to soften this strong spirit, sugar is added just before drinking.

Awaji incense and Brass Incense Holder

Awaji Island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea is known for traditional puppet theater and traditional top quality incense making .
Currently responsible for 70% of all of Japan’s incense.
They say it’s the nishi-kaze wind that is responsible for the most refined drying process ,giving a sacred breath to the aromas .
Here paired with a miniature brass incense holder handcrafted also in Japan.

Hasami Porcelain is a stackable, modular ceramics line made in the historic town of Hasami, located in Nagasaki prefecture, Japan. For over 400 years, the proprietary mixture of crushed stone from Amakusa used in this clay and porcelain mixture has created some of the most beautiful pottery in the world, pieces cherished for their individuality.
Hasami Porcelain’s bowl is made from a porcelain clay mixture and is stackable with other 14.5 cm diameter pieces within the line.

Oedo-Koh incense is a specialist range of Japanese incense inspired by the Edo period in Japan (1600s to 1800s).
Aloeswood was highly prized as a luxury fragrance in old Edo – as it still is today – and is one of the most expensive fragrance ingredients. Amazingly, it can even be more expensive in weight than gold.
The Oedo-Koh Aloeswood incense is specially packaged with paulownia wood with a small tin stick holder, wrapped in a special Ukiyo-e painting, making this a perfect gift for any given situation.
