Nealle, a leading Japanese SaaS company focused on parking lots, successfully completed a Series B financing. This round was led by Japan Post Investment and raised ¥4.6 billion. Keyrock will participate in this latest round and led Nealle’s previous 2023 financing.

We are incredibly humbled by Timee’s successful IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Timee is now a ¥148 billion market cap company (as of 7/29) and represents one of the largest Japanese IPOs in recent memory. Congratulations to the entire Timee team!

Three years ago, Keyrock had the great fortune to invest with Timee’s founder, Ryo Ogawa. While only 24 years old at the time, Ogawa-san had tremendous passion and ambition. His goal was to make Timee a social infrastructure for Japan by addressing the labor crisis. Today, Timee is synonymous with gig-working in the country. The word “Timee-san” literally means gig-worker.

We went back to our archives and found an interview between Keyrock Senior Advisor Shunsuke Uchikawa and Ogawa-san. In this video, Ogawa-san shares his personal motivations and mistakes, including shutting down his first start-up. It is an incredible and inspiring story, please take a look!

On June 8, 2024, Keyrock’s Senior Advisor, Shunsuke Uchikawa, led an insightful 3-hour educational session for over 30 current and aspiring entrepreneurs. The event was held in collaboration with the entrepreneur community “MACC” under the Matsuo-Iwasawa Lab at the University of Tokyo. Key topics covered during the session included corporate governance, financing strategy, investor relations, and several case studies. Participants, including students and recent graduates, are in the process of developing start-up business plans to be presented in a future session. This is the next generation of Japanese entrepreneurs in action!
