The 6th Greater Bay Area Conference by Institute of Accountants Exchange was successfully held on 3 Aug 2024 at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building. HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited is honored to be the Supporting Organisation of this conference for nurturing future business talents in the Greater Bay Area. 【Prof. Raymond Cheng visited Central Holding Group in Hefei City, Anhui Province (the holding company of Central New Energy Holding Group Limited - HKEX: 1735) and attended the Hong Kong Hefei Association first anniversary meeting 】

On 2nd November 2023, Prof. Raymond Cheng, Chairman of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited and the Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants was invited to visit Mr. Yu Zhuyun (余竹云主席), the Chairman of Central Holding Group, located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, People's Republic of China. Central Holding Group is the holding company of Central New Energy Holding Group Limited (中环新能源控股集团有限公司 - HKEX: 1735).

Central New Energy Holding Group Limited was first appointed HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited as its auditor and reporting accountant on 29th March 2018.

Mr. Yu Zhuyun accompanied Prof. Raymond Cheng and visited the Central City Shopping Centre and Zhonghuan Art Museum (both are owned by Central Holding Group and located in Hefei City). The purpose of this visit was to gain insight into the economic development of the area and to celebrate the significant development and contribution made by Central New Energy Holding Group Limited and by Mr. Yu Zhuyun (余竹云主席) to Hefei City and Anhui Province in terms of their economic, social and sustainable development.

On the evening of 23rd November 2023, the Hong Kong Hefei Association celebrated its first anniversary. 【Prof. Raymond Cheng awarded the「CEO of the Year 2023」from CAPITAL】

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Capital CEO” and “Capital Entrepreneur”, a special collaboration has been organized to host the “Capital CEO x Entrepreneur of the Year 2023” award ceremony. 【HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited crowned Champion at the HKICPA Soccer Championship 2022-2023】

HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited is the winner of the HKICPA Football Championship 2022-2023.

Organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (the “HKICPA”), the HKICPA Football Competition has been one of the most popular sporting tournament among our Hong Kong CPAs. HLB Soccer Team has been participating in this competition since 2002 and we were the winner for 2016-2017 and 2021-2022, 1st runners-up for six years and 2nd runners-up for one year.

Mr. Kenneth Cheng is the captain of HLB Soccer Team and he has successfully led the team defending our title in bringing the trophy back home again. Prof. Raymond Cheng, Chairman of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited, established a number of scholarships in 2022/23 for 5 consecutive years for undergraduate students of the Accountancy Department of the College of Business to motivate them to strive for excellence in the field of accounting and in recognition of their efforts in their studies.

The Qualification Programme (QP) Top Student Award and Scholarship Presentation Ceremony 2023, organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), was held at the HKICPA's auditorium on 23 September 2023 to commend students on their outstanding achievements. Mr. Joseph Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of The Government of HKSAR, graced the ceremony as the Guest of Honor.

Prof. Raymond Cheng as the Immediate Past President (IPP) of the HKICPA present at the Ceremony shared with all awardees the secret of success and encouraged them all to do well. 【HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited as Diamond sponsor of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants CPA Congress 2023】

The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) CPA Congress successfully held on 15 July 2023 at the Convention Hall of Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The theme of the event was “Creating a Pathway to Advancement: Empowering Enterprises for the Future”. The event is the flagship event of the HKICPA 50th Anniversary. Over 700 participants joined this hybrid event, with Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, Mr. Shu Huihao, Director General of the Accounting Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of China, and Ms. Asmâa Resmouki, President of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) graced the event as Guests of Honour and delivered opening remarks.

Prof. Raymond Cheng, Chairman of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited and Immediate Past President (IPP) of the HKICPA, represented the firm to receive recognition awarded by Ms. Loretta Fong, the President of the HKICPA.

HLB International Asia Pacific and Eurasia Conference was successfully held on 21 Jun 2023 in Phuket, Thailand. Mr. Jack Tien, Director of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited and Deputy Chairman of Asia Pacific, HLB International, represented the Firm to attend the conference at Phuket and delivered a speech on the stage.

This is the HLB International’s first conference with a strong ESG theme, contributed by four ESG guest speakers and a panel. It will also be the first time that HLB International has panels dedicated to topics like IPO services and legal advisory. The conference brought together a diverse group of professionals from various fields, and the knowledge exchange and networking opportunities were truly invaluable.

The Most Innovative Enterprise Award 2023 by Business Innovator was successfully held on 30 June 2023 at the Hilton Garden Inn Hong Kong. HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited was awarded the《Most Outstanding Accounting Firm of the Year》in recognition of the contributions to the economic development and success of Hong Kong over the years. Prof. Raymond Cheng, Chairman of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited and Immediate Past President (IPP) of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Mr. Park Kwok, Director of HLB Hodgson Impey Cheng Limited attended the ceremony, Prof. Cheng represented the firm to receive the award and delivered a speech at the ceremony.
