It is the year 2055. On a bleak and desolate post-apocalyptic wasteland, a group of young people with extraordinary psychic powers are drawn together from different corners of the globe. Navigating the world alone, they confront the consequences of our failure to heed the warnings of climate change, hopeful that they can rebuild civilisation from the ashes.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic participants with physical disabilities – individuals or groups, all levels of dance experience welcome – to join our 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐨𝐱 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞 programme. During the programme, participants take part in a series of dance workshops led by professional choreographer and dance artist Malvina Tam and create empowering dance pieces with local youngsters.

The response to our open auditions for our new original musical 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 was overwhelming and we’re thrilled to announce the full cast list of our amazing young performers!

𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭 hits the stage this November at The Box, Freespace in West Kowloon Cultural District. Registrations are now open for school bookings. If you’re looking forward to the show as much as we are, stay tuned for updates!

【🐋 五十二赫茲的感應 Empathise with 52-hertz】

鯨魚間係以叫聲嚟尋覓同伴，但52赫茲並唔係佢哋用嘅音頻，於是一條用52赫茲低鳴嘅鯨魚廿幾年嚟都搵唔到同伴，被稱為「世上最孤獨的鯨」。大型裝置藝術作品《五十二赫茲的感應》由藝術團隊破格空間創作及帶領，約80位東亞銀行義工利用鐵線塑形技巧同布藝拼貼方法創作珊瑚立體雕塑，再結集喺鯨魚身上。作品命名靈感沿自「世上最孤獨的鯨」真實鯨魚故事，藝術家希望引用獨特嘅吶喊聲，引起公眾對海洋生態危機嘅關注。

由即日起至8月2日，大家嚟到東亞銀行中心2樓就可以欣賞《五十二赫茲的感應》同埋其他藝術家、同學嘅作品啦！

Whales locate and communicate with each other through sound. One individual whale – known as the loneliest whale in the world – has been heard calling at a frequency of 52 hertz. As this pitch is higher than other whale calls, it has been unable to find a companion for over two decades.

Inspired by the story of this whale, artist duo Breakthrough Art Studio and 80 Bank of East Asia volunteers created Empathise with 52-hertz – an installation work about the problems facing the world’s marine ecosystems. Alongside a large whale you can see coral sculptures made using a mixed technique of wire shaping and fabric collage. The corals remind us of the destructive bleaching effects of rising sea temperatures and illustrate the urgency of marine conservation.

The exhibition is open from now until 2 August at 2/F, BEA Tower.

仲有2日就舉行今屆嘅東亞綠色藝術節啦！我哋鼓勵大家以低碳嘅出行方式，乘搭公共交通工具例如港鐵嚟活動場地，只要你喺港鐵觀塘站A2出口出，入咗去創紀之城5期後向右轉，就可以搭扶手電梯上2樓嘅東亞銀行中心電梯大堂。屆時請出示已報名工作坊嘅二維碼，工作人員會同大家登記，之後就可以搭升降機直上7樓嘅活動場地！我哋周末活動日見！

Just two days to go before the start of our 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧v𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢v𝐚𝐥! We encourage everyone joining us to use public transport and make a low-carbon journey! It’s easy to reach us – simply take the MTR to Kwun Tong and leave via Exit A2. From there it’s a 1-minute walk to Millennium City Phase 5, where you take the escalator on the right to the 2/F lobby of Bank of East Asia Tower. When you reach the lobby, show the QR code for your registered workshop to the onsite staff, and they will help you with registration before you take the elevator to the 7/F event venue. 【🌏 護盾綻放之時 The Bloom of Shield】

東亞綠色藝術節2024嘅展覽已經開始咗啦，帶大家睇下其中一件作品先！藝術家馬穎汶 Mandy以臭氧層變薄危機作為啟發，帶領60位東亞銀行義工合作編織一張佈滿孔洞嘅大型繩網裝置。作品其後交由年輕人接手進行延伸創作，製作出17幅有關環保行動嘅俄羅斯刺繡作品，並將刺繡作品修補喺繩網空洞位置。作品強調臭氧層破洞危機同人類合力修補嘅決心。

由即日起至8月2日，大家嚟到東亞銀行中心2樓就可以欣賞《護盾綻放之時》同埋其他藝術家、同學嘅作品啦！

Join us at the 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧v𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢v𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 exhibition and take a look at the display The Bloom of Shield created by artist Mandy Ma, Bank of East Asia volunteers and student participants. Combining a large, hole-ridden rope net and punch needle pieces, this art installation represents the damaged ozone layer surrounding Earth and illustrates the importance of collective action to heal the environment.

The exhibition is open from now until 2 August at 2/F, BEA Tower.
