We love the fact that we can roast, brew and serve you coffee all under one roof. At our SYP cafe, we will be featuring seasonal single origins as espressos. Currently there are:
1️⃣ Ethiopia Yirgacheffe (Natural)
This vibrant coffee comes from high altitudes of 2000 metres in Ethiopia. Its unique profile offers a symphony of flavors: floral notes intertwine with the nostalgic sweetness of Parma Violet, the refreshing tang of orange zest, and punchy berries.
2️⃣ Columbia Pink Bourbon (Anaerobic Natural)
Embark on a flavor journey with Villa Pastora’s Pink Bourbon, a varietal commonly grown in Colombia, though it was said to also have traces of Ethiopian roots.
Coffee farmers can really demonstrate their craft in anaerobic fermentation, in this case it was a spectrum of dark currant and grape notes, with a twist of lychee. This complex coffee is rich in body and can be served black or with milk.
Give these a shot, double shot!

呢隻埃塞俄比亞 果丁丁村的耶珈雪啡G1(日曬處理法)
嘅咖啡豆生長於埃塞俄比亞海拔2000公尺的高海拔地區,獨特嘅環境同土壤令佢充滿花香、berries甜味同帶橙皮清爽感。
2️⃣ Columbia Pink Bourbon (Anaerobic Natural)
嚟品嚐Detour嘅粉紅波本!粉紅波本係哥倫比亞常見嘅品種,但有被發現原本生長於埃塞俄比亞嘅痕跡。
喺Villa Pastora呢個咖啡莊園,
三代咖啡農民十都會視呢個品種為寶藏。
粉紅波本再加上厭氧發酵工藝,
令整體風味充滿活力嘅黑漿果和葡萄香氣,
以及荔枝嘅味道。 複雜而濃郁嘅咖啡,
黑咖啡或加牛奶飲用都適合。

Introducing Postcard Teas () to our esteemed tea-sippers. Postcard Teas has been a pioneer in the tea provenance for over 30 years. They've journeyed far and wide to tea-growing regions around the world, and it is these travels that have shaped their hand-picked teas, sent to you in these wonderfully hand-made postcard packages. At Detour, we serve two of their classic blends:
The Family Breakfast Tea is a blend from the Sahyadri Tea Consortium in Kerala, India, and the Handunugoda Small Farms group in Galle, Sri Lanka. This blend offers a bold, rich flavor, and light maltiness, making it a perfect everyday breakfast tea.
Gianfranco's Earl Grey is a unique blend combining black teas from Mineral Springs in Darjeeling and Sahyadri in Kerala, with the world's finest bergamot from Calabria, Southern Italy. This lightly scented Earl Grey offers a bright, citrusy flavour that stands out from typical Earl Grey blends.
Do you miss your Italian summer holiday? Well, we can't fly you back, because, you know, we're a café, not an airline. 🇮🇹 But what we CAN do is offer you our new Mortadella Focaccia. It's got mortadella, salami, prosciutto, and artichoke, all squished into a grilled focaccia. Finally a fresh quiet morning, we were able to take some photos of our new space and share them with those of you who are not able to visit as yet. The redesigning of our SYP home has been the most challenging project. Multipurpose and functional in a barely 600sq ft of space.

Wow... It’s been almost six years 6 years since we opened Detour Sai Ying Pun. And now, many thousands of great conversations, coffees and avocados later, our First street shop is finally closing..... for a much needed refurbishment!
Karen and I are so thankful for your support over the years , and we can’t wait for you to see the new design.
The works will begin Monday 5th June and ( fingers crossed ) will re open early to mid July. In the meantime, take a detour 1.5km east on Queens Road to our Sheung Wan joint.

This Easter, instead of hot cross buns, we’re baking our own version of P***a. Lightly sweetened and fruited, this festive bread is part of Easter rituals in many Eastern Slavic cultures.
In recreating this tradition, our hearts are with all the Ukrainian women who may not be able to bake for their families this Easter. We hope to share and keep their stories alive.
For the month of April, we’re joining the global movement . Our p***a ($45 each) will be available at our cafes for purchase. Profit will go to Unicef, who’s working 24/7 to provide safety and protection for Ukrainian children and their families.
*We have limited stock for daily sales, but we welcome pre-orders. DM please. For larger orders we are happy to arrange delivery as well.
