📢Calling all young PIANISTS! Following the success of "Audition On Stage - Violin" in 2022, we are thrilled to announce the next chapter of our endeavour to nurture local talent - "Auditions On Stage - Piano", which will take place in March 2025.

We invite all budding Hong Kong pianists aged 25 or below to apply for the chance to perform a concerto with Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Two categories are in place - the Junior Category (aged 16 or below) and the Open Category (aged 25 or below).

🎹Since becoming the youngest and first ever Asian winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2006 at the age of 18, Korean pianist Sunwook Kim has established a stellar international career marked by acclaimed performances with such prestigious orchestras and venues as the Berlin Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

🎻One of the most prominent Chinese artists on the international stage today, violinist Dan Zhu is celebrated for his “Truly brilliant, compelling, and polished” performances (Boston Musical Intelligencer), and has appeared with top orchestras and conductors such as Boston Symphony Orchestra, Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach etc.

As part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival, Dan Zhu will make his début with Hong Kong Sinfonietta this November under the baton of Music Director Christoph Po**en, playing Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No 2 – a beautifully lyrical, rhapsodic and virtuosic work with enchanting folk undertones, originally written for legendary violinist Paul Kochanski. The concert will open with the Hong Kong première of acclaimed composer Valentin Silvestrov’s atmospheric Stille Musik, and conclude with Tchaikovsky’s timelessly captivating Symphony No 5.
