KJU's International Director, Dr. Tamara Rátz has been awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Karshi Engineering-Economics Institute, Uzbekistan by the Council of KEEI, in consideration of the work carried out within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between Kodolányi University and Karshi Engineering-Economics Institute.
This week Dr. Alibek Eshev from Karshi Engineering-Economics Institute, Uzbekistan, is visiting our university for Erasmus+ staff training. Yesterday Dr. Eshev gave two interesting presentations to professors of KJU about his university and about history, culture and traditions in Uzbekistan.
It was a pleasure to welcome Ms. Melodi Çiftçi from Mustafa Kemal University, Hatay, Türkiye, who visited Kodolányi János University between 3-5 June 2024 in the framework of Erasmus+ staff training mobility.

On 22 May 2024, Prof. Dr. Oleksiy Nestulya, Rector of Poltava University of Economics and Trade, and Prof. Dr. Svitlana Nestulya, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Leadership, visited the International Campus of Kodolányi University in Budapest. It was a pleasure to welcome our Ukrainian colleagues, and we hope to continue and expand our cooperation in the future.

In the framework of Erasmus+ mobility, it was our pleasure to welcome Mr. Andreas Christoforou from the College of Tourism and Hotel Management, Nicosia, Cyprus. Mr. Christoforou's gave interesting lectures about positive psychology and value creation to our Hungarian and international students, and we also had a chance to discuss further cooperation opportunities between our universities.
Dr. Judit Grotte took a group of our international students on a study visit to the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel. On behalf of the students, we would like to thank Ágnes Karlik, Director of People and Culture, and Tamás Gebei, Guest Service Manager, for today's wonderful experience.

It was our pleasure to welcome colleagues from Universum International College, Prishtina, Kosovo in our Székesfehérvár campus. Armend Berisha, Head of International Projects and Arberita Beka, Marketing Officer visited KJU in the framework of Erasmus+ staff mobility, and had a fruitful meeting about further cooperation with Dr. Tamara Rátz, International Director and Andrej Ivanyenko.
In the framework of Erasmus+ staffy mobility, KJU's International Director, Dr. Tamara Rátz visited our partner, Marmara University in Istanbul. During her trip, she also attended EURIE 2024 - Eurasia Higher Education Summit, with the aim to explore the higher education systems, student mobility flows, and recruitment dynamics in the Eurasian region.

Organized by Dr. Judit Grotte, 3 groups of students visited the impressive Pesti Vígadó on the 7th of November, in the frame of the External Business Services, International Event Management and Etiquette & Protocol subjects. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Head of Sales Zita Csillag-Kis and her team to ensure our students the opportunity to have such a wonderful experience.

KJU celebrates 25 years of Erasmus+!
This semester a record number of students applied for our Erasmus+ mobility programs and are travelling abroad for one or more semesters to study, or to complete their internship.
Portugal, Lithuania, Belgium, Japan, Spain and the Czech Republic are just a few of the destinations the students chose.
We wish them a successful semester full of experiences and friends!

The delegation from KJU International Office has visited 2 partner universities in Uzbekistan. At Karshi Engineering-Economics Institute, besides the official talks, Dr. Orsolya Hoffmann, vice rector for international and continuing education, Éva Horváti, international director, Andrej Ivanyenko, international coordinator and Dr. Levente Halász, associate professor had an exciting meeting with groups of students and presented to them the beauties of Hungary and the Erasmus+ exchange program.
The possibilities of cooperation have also been explored with colleagues from Samarkand Silk Road International University University of Tourism. We are looking forward to fruitful cooperation with both HEIs.
In the framework of External Business Services subject, the course leader, Dr. habil Judit Grotte invited Selim Ölmez, the General Manager of Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Budapest to talk about the Marriott hotel chain and Matild Palace within it.
He presented students the risks and crises the hotel faced before, during and after the pandemic - how can such a period be seen as an opportunity and what lessons should be learned from these situations. More than 67 students were present, and found the presentation very exciting.
On behalf of the students, we would like to thank Selim Ölmez, General Manager for this wonderful experience! The hotel welcomes students who want to spend their internship here.
This event marked the beginning of a multifaceted, new collaboration between Matild Palace Hotel and Kodolányi János University.

We opened a very special semester at KJU: we are celebrating 25 years of Erasmus+ mobility!
2023/2024 is our 25th study year welcoming Erasmus+ students at our university. This semester we have more than 70 students joining us from all around the world, including but not limited to China, Germany, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Algeria, Spain, Portugal, Pakistan, France and even Uzbekistan!
We hope the students will enjoy their time here and will gain lot of experiences, knowledge, memories and lifelong friendships.
Four international students successfully presented on behalf of the Kodolányi János University at the 1st Finance and Accounting International Scientific Conference of the XV. Finance Days in Pécs, entitled “Sustainability and Resilience”. The event was organized by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pécs on June 5-6. Participants now face one last huge challenge: to submit full conference papers corresponding to their abstracts by 20th September. Participation automatically resulted in an abstract publication. Now they can decide to increase the number of their publications to two, which is a huge success in the life of an undergraduate student.
Our students studying in our Ukrainian program and at MEGU University in Rivne successfully passed the final exam. We warmly congratulate them and hope that they will be able to use the acquired knowledge in a peaceful and prosperous Ukraine!
This week we had the great pleasure of welcoming Vice-President Prof. Fujimi Tanaka from Japan. Kanazawa Seiryo University is one of our oldest and most successful relationships. In addition to the fact that the student's and teacher's exchange program works exceptionally well, also further opportunities for cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
EU50 Exhibition
The EU50 Exhibition was held at Kodolányi János University on 11 May at the Budapest Campus. The event was sponsored by the Government of the Republic of Ireland and His Excellency Ronan Gargan, Irish Ambassador to Hungary officially opened the event. In his speech H.E. spoke of the importance the EU has meant for the overall development of his country. This was followed by questions from teachers and students. The event was very successful and impressive together with the informational panels on the past fifty years of EU membership.
ERASMUS+ BIP Program at Kodolányi Kodolanyi Janos University - KJU
The Department of English Language and Literature at KJU organised an international program within the framework of Erasmus+ BIP. The organizational work was launched in October 2022, and KJU was the host institution; the organizers invited three foreign universities to take part with their students and teachers. The partners included: Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities, Poland; Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Portugal; and South-West University "Neofit Rilski", Bulgaria. The program offered the students three courses in the field of “Global Englishes”, altogether 15 credits. BIP contained an online program which was held 27 to 29 March and the face-to-face program was held at the Budapest campus of KJU from 9 to 11 May.
The complete program was a huge success both for the international as well as the Hungarian students who participated in the courses.
At the last meeting of the Gastronomy course, we visited the Dreher brewery with our students in Kőbánya.
Fortunately, we could not only follow the brewing process with our eyes...
The 30-year-old Kodolányi János University is constantly evolving. The latest step in this development is the international accreditation of our Bachelor's degree in English Studies.
In addition, our long-standing plan to launch a Master's degree in English Studies, also with international accreditation, has come true from September 2023.
From September 2024, we will also launch a Master's degree programme in Translation and Interpreting, which has also acquired international accreditation.
