The Slow's charity exhibition of Ralph Steadman still calls The Slow Gallery home and we've just added 3 special pieces to it, one particular from .indonesia founder, who was selected with Ralph Steadman to be together on a humanitarian mission 30 years ago in 1991 making a documentary in Peru for the BBC to take to the Earth Summit in Rio to expose the then drug barons and the deforestation issue in Peru. The art sales of this special piece will goes to .indonesia

a local organisation that provides desperately needed resources including shelter, clothing, education, health care and food to the impoverished women and children of Denpasar, Bali.

Many of the families one room homes in the impoverished area got flooded due to the heavy rains in Bali. Ruining mattresses and their few possessions. have been aiding the families in need of mattresses, cooking equipment and clothing. They are also also supporting the children with medical and nutritional aid.

‘Ralph Steadman: The Illustrator of Gonzo’ Opening Exhibition

This Friday 17 December

An exhibition of imagery that embodies the notion of Fear and Loathing in a movement defined as Gonzo. The exhibition will comprise of 8 large scale printed original artworks and 9 signed affiches, also feature 22 collaborated photographs between Hunter S Thompson & Ralph Steadman, as well an animated video and a Gonzo wall.

The Burroughs Gang: Joe Petro III, William S. Burroughs, and Ralph Steadman.

William S. Burroughs, Ralph Steadman and Joe Petro, who liked the concept of destroying any rule, decided to collaborate on their own shotgun series. Steadman created the print, 'Something New Has Been Added', and he and Burroughs preceded to shoot up the prints with an assortment of different types of ammunition at Burroughs' house in Lawrence, Kansas.

’Something New Has Been Added' will be a part of the exhibition. Ralph Steadman Opening Exhibition Friday 17th December 5pm at The Slow.

Gun Nut William S. Burroughs & Gonzo Illustrator Ralph Steadman make Polaroid portraits together. Another Ralph Steadman’s notable collaboration with a literary figure, William S. Burroughs.

Steadman brought together his own illustrations with Burroughs love of guns, asking the octogenarian writer to blast holes in original Steadman creations. Some of these paintings feature the Polaroid portraits of Burroughs.

Hunter S. Thompson wrote “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” in 1971, and it solidified his brand of Gonzo journalism that became his trademark. Illustrated by Ralph Steadman, which forever linked him with Thompson in the minds of readers. “He had a devil in him,” Steadman said of the journalist. “And it excited the devil in me.”

Photograph "Birdprayer" by Arya Pandjalu proudly showcased at .slow

Indonesian artist Arya Pandjalu commenced his creative career studying print making at the Indonesia Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta. In the 13 years since, he has received international recognition for his works, with his works being exhibited in numerous corners of the globe, including Italy, Russia, Korea, Germany, China, Australia, the USA, and Japan. Pandjalu aims to use his installations, prints, paintings, sculptures and performances as a tool for social and personal story telling. In 2003 participated in the Sama-Sama Mural Project in San Francisco.
