Doyounoushinohi (The Ox day during summer Doyo) is a popular Japanese custom of eating eel.

When Japan counted the days by the 12 Chinese zodiacs, Doyo is 18 days before the change of the season. There are four seasons, so there are four Doyo; Doyounoushinohi refers to spring becoming summer.

Japanese people customarily eat eel to counteract the summer heat. In fact, Eel has vitamins (A, B1, B2, D, and E), DHA, EPA, and Collagen. Eel has more than 100% of the daily value of those nutrients; especially the vitamins.

Eel is good for beauty and health; and is a superfood.
