Many of you saw a post from us two weeks ago that promised exciting, colourful things were coming your way. Unfortunately, we have been informed that we need to apply for planning permission to bring our Marino Street mural to life. This has put a temporary halt to our progress, but not to our determination.

There is currently a bill in the second stage before Dáil Éireann that wants to "amend Planning and Development Regulations to provide for exemptions from planning permission for certain categories of public art murals". While street artists nationwide await the passing of the bill, and while our team works at getting the required go-ahead for this project, have a sneak peek at the artists' vision and keep your fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Warm Moroccan Jewelled cous-cous salad, with pistachio, red onion, mint, parsley, sun dried toms, spring onion & cherry tomato, topped with Harrisa Chicken & pomegranate seeds.

Due to the government implementing a 50% increase on VAT this week we have no choice but to slightly raise prices on some items over the coming days.

It will be no suprise to anyone, including those in government who have made the decision to move ahead with this increase, that the prices on all inputs have increased dramatically over the past number of months. While we would love to absorb this latest increase, we simply can not.

We could reduce the quality of our food, buy less from local suppliers, and generally serve a lower standard of product to offset this latest increase. We could reduce staff costs by paying the minimum wage and offering fewer hours, stretching our hard working team. For us, neither is really an option worth consideration. We respect our staff and our suppliers as much as we love and trust our customers. We feel confident that you would prefer us to maintain the quality you’ve come to expect at West, and can look forward to at Al’s Diner on Bridewell lane in the coming months!

We apologies that this increase has to be passed along; unlike other supplier increases, this was a choice made by government. We urge you to use your vote at the next election 🗳️
