Some beautiful photos of our 'Habitats through Art' learners' recent trip to White Sands at Lough Graney in East Clare. A protected area teeming with a wide variety of habitats including Wetlands, River, Lake and Sessile Oak Woodlands, Mooreland and Marginal grassland. Each learner focused on a different animal or bird and studied this specific habitat. The Hen Harrier is a rare ground nesting bird of prey found in this area and the Merlin also nests on the ground and in the woodlands here, both are protected birds of prey. There are deer, otters, badgers, voles, red squirrels to name just some of the mammals. Definitely well worth a visit for anyone interested in walking, wildlife and beautiful trees.
Healthy Cooking Courses will commence next week and we have two places left. Book your place by phoning Arlene at 086 031 9160.
