Last day BBQ for our Summer Cooking with Mandy & the the food was perfect & so was the weather. Eating good food together alfresco was just heaven on earth.

Mandy brought the most simple dishes to life & created an empowering learning space that gave each participant the power to create & make not just nourishing food but to create a sense of home.

Thank you to each person who took part & especially to our precious Mandy

Just lovely to share time & a bit of lunch with beautiful colleagues from our Community Education Engagement group.

Having organised 10 Gatherings in 5 years we need days like these. Nano’s china was out for these wonderful people who continue to seek ways to make the voice of our community education participants heard. Also our goal is to support each other as we support those who come & take part in our programmes & services.

Lovely to welcome new members today.

Crochet Ladies Day 2024

Yesterday we took our crochet ladies to Kinsale for their Summer Day out, and what a day we had.

went above and beyond to accommodate us in their gorgeous garden suite. Ian and the staff were so attentive and friendly! Thank you 🙏

We had the pleasure of having Noah Synder perform for us during the day. Thank you Noah for sharing your wonderful talent with us.

Thank you to for getting us there safely 🙏

The story about the pigeon!

Today at our crochet ladies day out there was one spot prize & Anne was our winner, chosen by Noah our fabulous musician. He knew nobody at today’s gathering.

The funny thing is recently Anne had taken a pigeon into her home & nursed him back to full Heath before sending him off on his way again.

Noah choose Anne from a sea of faces & one of the gifts she won was a mug & guess who’s back. A lovely pigeon to forever remind Anne about her lovely relationship. I think the pigeon came back to thank her for her kindness.🙏

Our Crochet ladies go above & beyond!

Dolores spoke & shared some of her wisdom & journey & the she sang like a nightingale acoompanied by Griff & Mary, a total treat.

Hugh thanks to the staff in our Nano Nagle Place team & to Anna our intern for all the planning for this celebration. Thanks to Raquel for supporting the event.

Thank you too to Joe & Jo for volunteering to help us give us the all important cup of tea and of course the day would not be complete with out the lovely cakes provided by Margaret Doody one of our crochet ladies.

One of our crochet tutors, Amy recently finished a willow square blanket. After a few months off due to major surgery, Amy has returned to our Crochet Group. She says crochet was a way to take her mind off her surgery and to focus on something positive. Each stitch was done in hope of a good recovery and brighter days ahead. She says crafts like crochet as not only a hobby, but a great way to help with mental health and general wellbeing.
