Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted anything here.

Today I'm going to share some useful information. I'm currently working on the design of a living room and have written down the nuances that you should pay attention to, I am happy to share them with you:

TV Mounting Height 📺: The optimal height for mounting your TV is so that the center of the screen is at eye level when you're seated. This is usually about 100-120 cm (40-47 inches) from the floor.

Outlets Behind the TV 🔌: Make sure to place electrical outlets directly behind the TV. This will help you avoid dangling wires and create a cleaner look.

TV Stand Height 📏: The height of the TV stand should allow the bottom of the TV to be at eye level when you're sitting. Typically, this is about 50-60 cm (20-24 inches).

Distance from TV to Sofa 📏: The optimal distance between your TV and sofa depends on the screen size. For a 50-inch TV, the distance should be about 2-2.5 meters (6.5-8 feet).

TV Size Based on Sofa Distance 📐: To choose the right TV size, use the formula – screen diagonal (in inches) multiplied by 0.84. This will give you the ideal viewing distance. For example, if your viewing distance is 2 meters (6.5 feet), the TV should be around 55 inches.

Door Swing Direction 🚪: Don't forget to check which way your doors open. This can affect the placement of your furniture and ensure easy movement in the room.

Last night was a great networking event organized by Dublin Local Enterprise Office, featuring talks ‘Building your Personal Brand: Expert tips on LinkedIn and Headshot’ by Elaine Walsh McGrath and Tanya Crosbie 🤗 Thanks a million 😇🙏

I've noticed that many people associate the work of an interior designer solely with creating a beautiful image 🖼. Honestly, that's just the final result of the entire process ☺️

1️⃣ To create a beautiful image, it's essential to develop a design concept. This is where the consultation service comes in, involving surveys to better understand the client's preferences and determine the interior's style, color palette, finishes, lighting, and other details. After this stage, clients receive 🎨 mood boards and other information to help them visualize and refine their preferences for the upcoming design process.

2️⃣ And for designers, a filled-out survey and moodboards act as a roadmap. Based on this information, a detailed brief is developed for visualization using 3D software.

But that's not all!

If you've just acquired a property, you might only have basic room dimensions. These are often insufficient for creating a 3D model of the interior. Designers 👩‍🎨 have to calculate missing dimensions from available drawings.

In such cases, there's a risk of having to redo everything. That's why accurate measurements are crucial. Based on these measurements, we create floor plans and furniture layout plans. While you can 3️⃣ take initial measurements by your own, final ones are usually done by a construction company. Because, experienced contractor wouldn't risk doing renovations based on drawings made by someone else.

So, what comes after measurements? At this stage, 4️⃣ we create 2D floor plans with all the dimensions.

Using the 2D plan, 5️⃣ we develop the furniture layout plan. We typically explore multiple options, refining them for the client to choose the most preferred one.

With these details attached to the brief, 6️⃣ the designer starts creating a 3D model. Using various 👩‍💻 software, we transform the 2D layout into a three-dimensional model. Images and videos of the 3D model are sent to the client for approval.

7️⃣ After incorporating any necessary adjustments, the 3D model is handed over to a visualizer for 8️⃣ rendering. At this stage, the realistic image is generated from the sketch – 🎬 exactly 'that beautiful picture.'

Checking of the tiling quality is crucial to achieving a professional and aesthetically pleasing result. Here are some steps to assess the quality of tile installation:

🔸Alignment and Level:
Check if the tiles are laid evenly and are level. Use a straight edge or level to identify any unevenness or slopes.

🔸Grout Joints:
Ensure consistent and uniform grout joints between tiles. Inconsistencies may indicate rushed or careless work.

🔸Tile Spacing:
Verify that the spacing between tiles is consistent. Uneven spacing can affect the overall appearance of the tiled surface.

🔸Adhesive Coverage:
Lift a few tiles to inspect the adhesive coverage on the back. Adequate coverage is necessary for a strong bond.

🔸Tile Alignment:
Check if the tiles align with reference lines or patterns. Misaligned tiles can detract from the overall appearance.

🔸Corners and Edges:
Examine corners and edges for chipping, uneven cuts, or irregularities. These areas should be neat and well-finished.

🔸Grout Quality:
Inspect the grout lines for consistency in color and thickness. Ensure that grout lines are smooth and well-finished.

🔸Tile Bonding:
Tap on tiles to ensure they sound solid. Hollow sounds may indicate poor bonding or adhesive coverage.

When planning renovations, do not rely on the drawings you received when you purchased the property! 👷🏗️ Take measurements yourself, draw up accurate layouts, and decide on the location of the premises. Careful planning saves time, money, and helps properly organize the construction process.

In the world of interior design, color holds tremendous power. It has the ability to transform a space, evoke emotions, and create a harmonious atmosphere. The influence of color in interior design cannot be understated; it plays a vital role in shaping our experiences within a space.

Lifehack: I painted the door and part of the wall the same color as the kitchen to avoid visually breaking up the accent wall.

You may find information that dark ceilings make a room look lower, but you can actually achieve a 'weightless ceiling' by making a glossy stretch materials.

Also, if you paint a ceiling black and don't use ceiling lights, you can achieve an infinity effect.
