There's a few visiting ships in gracing Sir Johns Rogersons Quay today. A lovely mix of the traditional sailing ship and the ultra modern luxury yacht.

Each week our crew practice their skills with the onboard lifesaving and rescue equipment . Here we have Tony and Ryan doing drills with the 'Throw-Line', a piece of equipment that is used to recover people from the water should we see someone n need of help as we cruise along the Liffey.

With the new moon nearly upon us, it brings big spring tides to the river once again meaning that we are closed for a few days while these tides render the river unnavigable for a few days. We will be closed between the 19th and 23rd April . Back in action once again on the 24th.

Due to Gale force winds and strong gusts forecast for today we have suspended our cruises for the 12th April . Cruises will resume on the 13th April.

On your way down to the it is well worth stopping to check out Rowan Gillespies haunting memorial to the Famine, situated on the campshires on Custom House Quay, these evocative sculptures truly depict what would have been common scenes on the quays during one of the country's darkest periods in history.

The Easter Holidays are here and one great way to kick start the break is with a visit to the Docklands. Begin with a cruise on the river liffey before heading into our friends in the for a tour before some lunch in the . Then round off your day with a visit to the . The Docklands is packed with things to do for all ages when you visit.

James Gandon's Custom House. One of Dublin's Architectural jewels from the georgian era which saw an explosion in construction in Dublin that gave us most of our iconic buildings. Great when seen from the perspective of the river.

"The Linesman" by Sculptor Donie McManus. This is one of our favourite artworks along the Quayside. Placed here to commemorate the dockers who loaded and unloaded the ships in the days before containerisation and modernisation of the Port.

The Samuel Beckett Bridge which opened on December 10th 2009, joins Guild Street on the north bank to Sir John Rogerson’s Quay on the south. This bridge is a swinging that can open to facilitate marine traffic on the river. The bridge is operated fortnightly for testing and can be seen opening from 2100 on Tuesdays when scheduled. The next planned opening date is the 4th April.

Admiral William Brown , a native of Foxford, County Mayo, is commemorated with this statue on Sir John Rogersons Quay. Admiral Brown was instrumental in the creation of the Argentinian navy and is one of Argentina's National heroes.

The Period of Spring tides is coming to an end and our cruises are recommencing tomorrow. We are back up and running with our first cruise setting sail at 1130 on Sunday Morning.
