📸 Holly tree in the corner garden in Dubh Linn Gardens behind .
In Irish mythology, holly, or Cuileann, was seen as one of the noble trees and was never completely cut down, though sprigs were often used for home decoration and protection. It was believed that holly could protect homes from evil spirits and provide shelter for benevolent fairies during winter.
Additionally, the tradition of hanging holly on doors and inside houses in Ireland dates back to ancient times, with the holly considered a symbol of life, protection, strength, and regeneration.
🏆Dublin City was awarded the 2024 European Capital of Smart Tourism in recognition of the city's commitment to deliver a greener, more accessible, inclusive and innovative Dublin for visitors and locals alike.
