Its already been a long month - we will turn a blind eye don't worry!! Great new products ready to welcome you back!
Staying on topic of Whiskey our recommendation for the week is Red Spot Whiskey single pot aged 15 years.
Simply put: a really tasty and terribly easy-drinking drop from Mitchell & Son's
On the nose: Equal parts sweet and fruity, as well as spicy and dusty. Stewed strawberries and blackberries ready for a crumble. Black cherry coulis. Vanilla Custard. Cinnamon & nutmeg, sawn wood and pepper. Some new leather, ripe mango and orange peel, with a very slight hint of mint in the background.
In the mouth: A rather soft but creamy and luscious arrival. Strawberry jam, stewed dark berries, and black licorice laces. Spice begins to build – cracked black pepper, cask char, nutmeg and ginger. Lovely biscuity quality to this. The finish is fairly long with crackling pot still spice, strawberry, licorice and a little aniseed.
Fact of the day: This pint alone is scientifically proven to get anyone through the midweek hump of a Wednesday.
(No fact checking!!!)
A star on any whiskey shelf it sits on is the single pot still aged 15 years! Available at Fitzgerald’s of Sandycove.
Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in copper pot stills, Redbreast 15 is comprised exclusively of Pot Still whiskeys matured in the finest oak casks for no less than 15 years. A careful balance of first fill and refill casks accentuates the assorted spices within Redbreast’s characteristic full and complex flavour.
We will be hosting another whiskey tasting at Fitzgerald’s very soon so if your a whiskey drinker or know someone who is make sure to keep your eyes peeled on our page!
4 years flies by!!
Tomorrow the 7th of November from 5-7pm Philip Maguire (Mad Magoo) and Howard Hughes (Happy Hubert) will be backing Richie Buckley, Joe Kennedy and Gerry Noonan for 12 songs - well known standards from the '20s, '30s and '40s.
There will be 3 sets of 4 starting at 5:00, 5:45 and 6:15 finishing at 7:00
The emphasis will be on melody. Philip, Howard, Joe and Gerry are all
amateurs - we are simply doing this for the fun of it. If you like old fashioned melodic Jazz, you should enjoy this.
Produced and Sponsored by Philip Maguire
Four years ago we had the honour of holding a World Cup winning medal following South Africas win. An incredible honour considering he is the only Irish person to have won one...and now two! Huge congrats to Felix Jones and the South African rugby team on their win. Wish it could have been us but well deserving champions!

With the summer weather being awfully Irish on us we are lucky the forecast from inside Fitzgerald’s is guaranteed to be warm with dry spells (or maybe not so dry 🍻 )
A man of genius makes no mistakes; his errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery. The actions of men are the best interpreters of their thoughts. Better pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of some passion, than fade and wither dismally with age.
Thanks to everyone who came out for Bloomsday, rain and all. Good thing hats were in style for the day!
Too much of anything is bad, but to much good whiskey is barely enough - Mark Twain
