Well done to our swimmers at Glenalbyn Swimming Club's novice gala this last weekend.

This was the first gala for a number of our swimmers who swam really well in their first ever races.

Congrats to Cian who won 4 gold medals over the course of the day, and to Gerard who picked up a bronze.

Thanks to Coach Shauna who was there supporting them with advice and encouragement. And thanks to the parents for supporting the swimmers and coaches to make the day a huge success.

What a brilliant day at Leinster Swimming's Future Challengers!!

All of our swimmers made us so proud and swam really well, dropping seconds of their entry times like it was going out of fashion.

Thanks to all the parents for taking them and supporting them. Thanks to Shauna our coach for getting them ready to go before their swims (and Niamh too who was an invaluable helper to Shauna).
Most importantly of all, thanks to our swimmers for putting everything into their races.

We have a limited number of available spaces in our younger age groups for those aged 7 to 10.

We are holding our annual trials on the 23rd of September at Aura Dundalk Leisure Centre at 6:55am to 7:55am.

If you are interested in your child joining a fun and competitive swimming club please register your interest by emailing [email protected] with name, date of birthday, and a contact phone number before the 21st of Septmber.

We also have a very small number of spaces for experienced, competitive swimmers. If you are interested please also register your interest along with your 50m and 100m freestyle, backcrawl, and breaststroke times.

Along with our awards we also gave out our Nationals t-shirts to those that qualified for this summer's competitions.

It has been a long season, filled with hard work and sacrifice from both swimmers and parents and we want to recognise the huge effort that everyone has put in to make it such a success.

A particular shout out to our Swimmer of the Year, Adam, and the Junior Swimmer of the Year, Valentina.

Happy Christmas to all our swimmers, their families, and everyone who supports them.

After a very long season last year we came back refreshed and determined to improve on how we swam last year.

This is the second year of our Fundamentals program with our first group already graduating to the Junior squad and competing at Leinster competitions, and our latest intake of young swimmers taking their place.

Last weekend we had the return of the Swim Ireland Christmas Cracker for novice swimmers with our 7 to 9 year old swimmers taking part, many for the first time. A special thanks to Odhran and Niamh who helped to make this first competition a memorable one (and they got to meet Santa as well!).

We had the opportunity to celebrate all of our Swimmers last night. What a fabulous season it has been, with many PB's, medals, finals. Most importantly the commitment, hard work and perseverance in each one of you is what true success is all about!

A special congratulations to Valentina and Odhran for winning a total of 4 🥈🥈🥈🥉 medals in the 10 year old age group! We were agonisingly close to a few more with a number of 4th place finishes for our swimmers.

We are extremely proud of how you swam today and the wonderful team spirit you all showed by supporting and cheering each other on.

We would like to congratulate our very own Rebekah Friel on her fabulous achievements over the past week while competing in the Irish Open Championships 2022.
Rebekah swam 6 events over 5 days. She came first in two Junior Finals and top ten overall in 5 out of 6 events! On top of all of this Rebekah achieved a PB in every event.
Well done Rebekah, you are a true inspiration to your team mates and we are very proud of your non stop hard work and commitment.
