The Civil Defence support the frontline emergency services in dealing with severe weather, flooding, major accidents, fire fighting and searching for missing people in Ireland.

A hard weekend's work for volunteers at this year's All Ireland Poc Fada in the Cooley mountains. Conditions turned treacherous with heavy rain and fog and the volunteers worked tirelessly in near zero visibility to ensure all patrons made it safely off the mountain.
