Our Story

Cruise's Bar and Restaurant

Built in 1658, this is one of the oldest buildings in County Clare, as well as being one of the most historic. Over the years the pub has built up a strong relationship with local traditional musicians who feel at home swapping tunes with the many visiting musicians who drop in all year round.

One of the reasons Cruise's has become renowned as a great pub for music is because it has traditional sessions all year round featuring some of the country's most celebrated musicians. Another factor has to be the staff, both past and present who are more than willing to help any customer with any query they may have an provide a great personal touch.

Cruise's is lively, entertaining and full of mighty craic. You can savour the excellent cuisine in Cruise's kitchen, settle amongst the timber, stone, blaze and lantern and savour their specialities of seafood and steak. For a quick bite, or lighter meal, pub food is available throughout the day.

Sharon Shannon mentions on the cover sleeve of "The Sanctuary Sessions" CD which features live traditional music recorded in this pub:

"I think what Cruise's Pub have done is a great idea. They've put together a lovely collection of music from the musicians that play there regularly and it really catches the atmosphere of a session."

This CD is packed with an abundance of musical talent and the pub itself is an oasis of character and charm with its stone flagged floors, ancient walls, low-beamed ceilings, big old stone fireplaces, nooks and crannies, making the place a great retreat.

The moment you step inside you're taken back in time to the days of crackling fires and open hearths. The pub is full of ancient memorabilia from old crockery to books, warm friendly smiles to charming Clare hospitality.

Enjoy old world charm & good old fashioned Irish Hospitality in the famous Black & White Pub of the years Cruises' Pub.

Relax next to the fire or perhaps join in one of our impromptu music sessions, Cruises' promises to be lively, entertaining & full of mighty craic!
