Mark and I met when I, the Botanist, travelled to Irelands Eye in search of a rare plant - the prickly poppy.
He took my hand and brought me across the water in a little orange boat and Ive pretty much loved him ever since.

Our Wedding party was a celebration of all things that we hold dear to our hearts.....our incredible Wild & Free spirited kids....our amazing & supportive families....our crazy, fun & kind friends.

Even now three weeks later....i close my eyes and can feel the LOVE that bombed us and everyone there throughout the whole day.

Thank you to the incredibly talented Sharon for honouring my wish to have Irish sourced flowers & native bouquets and for creating the most breath-taking fresh flower arch for us to be Wed under....an arch that framed the Island where we met.

Thank you to the incredibly talented Nonie who worked tirelessly with me to create wedding invitations and wedding stationary that told our love story in such a personal and beautiful way. Your art work is equisite.

Thank you to the incredibly talented who helped me feel like a fricken GODDESS on my wedding day. Its like having a super chill therapy session with a pal having you make me look like the very best version of ME.

Its a week since they organised Debfest for me.

"They"....the gorgeous souls who love me, laugh with me, cry with me, dream of big crazy Adventures with me.

Dancing in the rain, toasting marshmallows, sleeping in double decker buses and vintage caravans, karyoke, proseco, flower crowns.

It was wonderful.

Roll on this day three weeks when I get to marry my best friend....again

This time 6 weeks ago I had just come out of a 5 hour surgery.

Tonight I got to dress up in Christmas jammies and sit on the couch in front of a fire with my amazing crew.

I am grateful & thankful & blessed.

Happy Samhain from our home to yours.

A special time for all of us.

As a Celtic people we celebrate the beginning of a New Year.

A time to go inwards. To rest. Recover. Sleep. Hibernate.

A time to dream.

A time to throw the dark cloak over our Cailleach selves and allow Nature to Nurture us.

I made my cacao this morning with oat milk, tumeric, honey & rose petals

From the other end of my ward I can almost see home.

I see the Bailey lighthouse where he took me on the first "cliff cruise" in his daddys wooden boat all those years ago.

I see the magical little Island where my new job in Fingal County Council were sending me to validate old records of rare & protected flora.

I remember his face then....strong & true...thinking me a little strange as I disembarked the "Little Flower", head down, looking for plants.

I fell in love with Mark that first time I met him.

"Give the boatman a chance" said some of my most trusted friends.....

It was the best chance I ever took

Its all so connected...this beautiful web of life.

Cant wait to be home with all my crew.

Im incredibly thankful to the tea makers, shower helpers, nurses, pillow plumpers and surgeons of St. Vincents Hospital. I am so in awe of the level of care, the kindness, the expertiese and the humanity that has been shown to me since I arrived here, absolutely terrified, almost a fortnight ago.
