WEDDING DAY LIPSTICK 💄💋

Pro Tips!

Choosing your wedding lip colour can be one of the most difficult decisions, mostly because it’s such a personal touch. You want your wedding lipstick to show up in photos, look good in real life, and have a timeless feel.

• Stay True to You

The most important thing is to stay true to who you are... If you are a red lip person or a natural/neutral lip kind of girl, don’t make a dramatic change for your wedding day. Always keep your personal style in mind.

Almost always, I will ask the bride to bring her collection of lipsticks with her on the day of the trial and I’ll ask her what is your favorite go-to lipstick.
This is a perfect starting point because now I know this is the shade range we need to be in when we make our final decision.

•Natural/Neutral Lip

Typically a good rule of thumb is to aim for a lipstick that’s 1-2 shades deeper than your natural lip colour. This tends to be the most flattering, offering a pop of colour that will look beautiful in real life and in photos.

Lip shades can look completely different on everyone as our lip & skin tones will vary. Try it out on your lip and not just the back of your hand.

•Statement Lip

If you want to go for a statement red lip- do it!

When choosing a statement lip, I always prefer a matte or satin finish as it will help to prevent it bleeding and getting messy.

If you decide to wear a strong lippy, l suggest to start wearing it more frequently on the run up to your wedding, just so you can get use to the maintenance & have a feel wearing it all day.

A lip pencil especially with a red lip, will help create the shape and definition & used all over the lip, will help the lipstick with longevity.

•Lastly

If you’re unsure at your trial about the lipstick shade, dont stress!

Lipstick is probably one of the most personal pieces of your makeup, so I always suggest to my brides that if they get an opportunity while shopping around makeup counters, to try on a few other shades of lipsticks and if they find one they love, purchase it and I will apply it on the day.

It's been a whirl wind of a year since winning last years award, with so many wonderful opportunities and lovely people coming into my life.
