Party season is well underway so as you enjoy meeting friends and family over the Christmas period, please be aware of your drinks. Here are some tips to help prevent falling victim to drink spiking:

🔴 Never leave your drink unattended, and keep an eye on your friends' drinks.

🔴 Do not accept a drink from someone you do not know.

🔴 Don't give out your address to someone you have just met.

🔴 If you think your drink's been tampered with, do not drink it – tell a trusted friend or relative immediately.

🔴 Before going out, let someone know where you're going and what time you expect to be home.

🔴 Make plans for your journey home.

If you think your drink has been spiked, you can use these drink tests from Check Your Drink to determine whether or not it is safe to drink. All you have to do is dab your finger in your drink, add 2 drops to the test patches on the strip, check for the colour change.

These test strips are small enough to throw in your handbag and are available at the counter in the pharmacy for just €4.95.
