We have come together to give a voice to the families of Limerick who find themselves homeless. The people living on the streets. WE PROMISE TO BE THEIR VOICE!
The forgotten families, their children who live in hotels and HUBS. A committee has been set up to listen to the people of Limerick that are homeless or face homelessness. You are not alone, never forget that.
Happy New Year to everyone, please keep the homeless in your thoughts, we need things to change dramatically for them in 2022.

I am inundated with calls every day from people from all over Limerick about their housing situation. Lots of whom are in fact homeless.
For many months now I have been visiting areas bringing awareness to the fore and promoting the fact we need to .

This was the biggest mistake ever made when it came to dealing with people that are on their local housing body list!
HAP = CRAP
One difference between the schemes is that under HAP the tenant is expected to find suitable private rental accommodation, whereas under RAS the local authority sourced the accommodation. Secondly, an individual must be in receipt of Rent Supplement for more than 18 months to be considered for RAS.

What is most shocking is that families are living in sub-standard accommodation and that they are deemed suitably housed!
They may live in dampen squalor, in fear of their children's health. Drug use could be prevalent on their doorsteps.
Who cares, WE DO.

Our priorities as a country are all wrong.
Today some children start their day without a good breakfast in their stomach as they live in a hotel with no cooking facilities. Is that fair I ask you!!
