Super performance again today from Cole Maguire in the Celtic Box Cup final. Cole very narrowly lost out on a decision in one of the most entertaining fights of the day but can be proud of how he boxed today and all weekend. One of the most dedicated boxers in the club who is improving with every contest. Looking forward to the next outing already.

Two fantastic performances from and .oregan today at The Celtic Box Cup.

Cole was up first and showed excellent discipline and skill as he stepped up the gears as his fight went on. He won his quarter final against a good opponent who started strong.

Mike had one of his best performances to date. He controlled the distance and pace of his bout to win clearly against a very tough opponent and last year's finalist.

But they're not done yet.

Both are looking to improve their performances tomorrow as they box for their place in Sunday's final.

Well done to .7 for all of his help coaching today and a huge thank you to .moore.12 and Derek Duhig from St Francis who jumped in to help in the corners today. It's great to see Limerick clubs working together and helping each other out 👏

A great weekend of boxing at the Emerald Box Cup for Team Hub.

Jamie Ryan had his third bout in one weekend today where he went up in weight to compete against an English boxer. He totally outboxed his opponent in most people's eyes but unfortunately didn't get the decision. He is one of the hardest working boxers in the gym and in the ring and has made phenomenal progress this year. Jamie gained super experience this weekend that will undoubtedly help him in the upcoming Celtic Box Cup.

Chloe Keogh had a rematch with an old rival in her second final this weekend. She narrowly lost out on a decision but learned loads that will help her as well in the upcoming Celtic Box Cup where she will be looking to become a champion in her third Box Cup.

Well done to all of the team. James Cullinane unfortunately didn't get an opponent despite our best efforts but did a great job assisting in the coaching and raising morale.

And thanks to all of our amazing supporters for travelling and having the craic all weekend.

3 boxers competed this weekend, 1 champion and very unlucky not to have 2 if not 3. Great work rate and skills shown by all. Roll on the next one!

Jamie lost out on a close decision to a very good lad and boxed very well. Tomorrow he will go up in weight against an English opponent to challenge for Emerald Box Cup gold.

Cole had an excellent performance too and lost out on a split decision where many thought he did enough.

More boxing and experience for the team tomorrow. Very proud of the progress of this crew. They are relentless in their workrate and get better in every outing. Looking forward to tomorrow and the next box cup!

Massive well done to Chloe Keogh and Jamie Ryan today on two excellent performances.

Chloe was first up and stopped a good technical girl in the third round. This was a straight final so Chloe is now the crowned Emerald Box Cup 2023 champion! Huge congratulations to Chloe who also received excellent Leaving Cert results today!

Jamie was next up and boxed a very good southpaw from Manchester. Jamie boxed a very clever technical fight and got his hand raised against a very good opponent. He is through to the semi finals tomorrow.

Best of luck to Jamie and Cole Maguire in their contests tomorrow and to James Cullinane on Sunday.

Our final show of the year will begin tomorrow at 1pm in the Hub. Doors open at 12:30. We have some fantastic contests lined up. Entry is 5 euros on the door for all spectators. Teas and coffees are available in the health hub cafe. We hope to see you all there! ☘️🥊

Fantastic performances from all of the Hub BC boxers on the Neilstown Boxing Club Christmas show. I would like to thank Paul and all at Neilstown for having us. A great show as usual, all boxers were well matched. We're looking forward to having them back on Saturday for another year up on our own Christmas show! Well done to all involved ☘️🥊

Next up for is Hayleigh ( Smiley 😁) Kiely. Hayleigh has started her training camp stronger than ever and the most determined ive seen her. This occasion will be history making as she attempts to become the first ever Limerick K1 fighter to win a European K1 title. She faces a tough lady from Malta thats coming here to give it her all.
Hayleigh will be prepared for the best ever version of Hayleigh we've seen and as usual, will leave no stone unturned during training camp and she will give it everything to add to her ever growing championship belts!

Huge well done and congratulations to Patrick Sherlock, Thomas Sherlock and Chloe Keogh this weekend at the Monkstown Box Cup. All three boxed beautifully over the weekend and showed so much heart. Chloe and Thomas were very unlucky and lost out on very close decisions that could have easily gone the other way. Patrick finished the weekend with a flawless performance today to come away with the gold.

All three boxers should be incredibly proud of their performances and the progress they have made this season. Looking forward to next season already! Well done 🥊☘️

It was great to have the Cólaiste Chiaráin students in to The Hub today to complete the Gold Stage of the IABA Startbox initiative. All students sparred for three rounds and showcased the fantastic skills that they have developed this year. Well done to all, you should be very proud of yourselves!
