Exactly!
Pray daily!

Saint Peter was a liar
Saint Dismas was a thief
Saint Paul was an accessory to murder
Saint Augustine was a lifelong adulterer
Saint Jerome had a famously bad temper
Saint Mary of Egypt was a pr******te
Blessed Bartolo Longo was a satanic priest
Saint Mark Ji Tianxiang was a drug addict

Nothing you’ve done can exclude you from God’s love, forgiveness, mercy and grace. He’s waiting for you with open arms. Repent and return to Him.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, " For your sake we are being killed all the day long;we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
-Romans 8:35-39

AUGUST 3 ~ THE FINDING OF ST. STEPHEN’S RELICS
THE second festival in honor of the holy protomartyr St. Stephen was instituted by the Church on the occasion of the discovery of his precious remains. His body lay long concealed, under the ruins of an old tomb, in a place twenty miles from Jerusalem, called Caphargamala, where stood a church which was served by a venerable priest named Lucian.
In the year 415, on Friday, the 3d of December, about nine o’clock at night, Lucian was sleeping in his bed in the baptistery, where he commonly lay in order to guard the sacred vessels of the church. Being half awake, he saw a tall, comely old man of a venerable aspect, who approached him, and, calling him thrice by his name, bid him go to Jerusalem and tell Bishop John to come and open the tombs in which his remains and those of certain other servants of Christ lay, that through their means God might open to many the gates of His clemency. This vision was repeated twice.
After the second time, Lucian went to Jerusalem and laid the whole affair before Bishop John, who bade him go and search for the relics, which, the Bishop concluded, would be found under a heap of small stones which lay in a field near his church. In digging up the earth here, three coffins or chests were found. Lucian sent immediately to acquaint Bishop John with this. He was then at the Council of Diospolis, and, taking along with him Eutonius, Bishop of Sebaste, and Eleutherius, Bishop of Jericho, came to the place. Upon the opening of St. Stephen’s coffin the earth shook, and there came out of the coffin such an agreeable odor that no one remembered to have ever smelled anything like it. There was a vast multitude of people assembled in that place, among whom were many persons afflicted with divers distempers, of whom seventy-three recovered their health upon the spot. They kissed the holy relics, and then shut them up. The Bishop consented to leave a small portion of them at Caphargamala; the rest were carried in the coffin with singing of psalms and hymns, to the Church of Sion at Jerusalem.
The translation was performed on the 26th of December, on which day the Church hath ever since honored the memory of St. Stephen, commemorating the discovery of his relies on the 3d of August probably on account of the dedication of some church in his honor.
⚜️Reflection
St. Austin, speaking of the miracles of St. Stephen, addresses himself to his flock as follows: “Let us so desire to obtain temporal blessings by his intercession that we may merit, in imitating him, those which are eternal.”

Today is the feast of the Martyrs of Nowogrodek, eleven Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Nowogrodek was then in Poland Their charism was to bring the love of the Holy Family into families. They did this through their work of teaching in the local schools and offering practical help to local families. Some of the most important, but also the most dangerous work, under the Bolsheviks, was catechising and bringing prayer, especially the rosary into the heart of the family.

When Nowogrodek was taken by the N***s. Many of the men were imprisoned. The sisters gave all the help they could to their families. But as time went by the orphaned families became destitute and it looked like the men would be killed and never return. The sisters, understanding that Jesus’ life in the Holy Family Nazareth was a preparation for the Cross, that the Joyful mysteries must lead to the Sorrowful, made a decision to pray:

“O God…if sacrifice`of life is needed, accept it from us who are free from family obligations. Spare those who have wives and children”One night soon after, with no warning the N**i came to the convent, arresting all but one nun. She was probably left because she worked as a nurse.

The nuns prayed the rosary as they were lined up by the edge of a pit and shot. Shortly after the men returned to the village not one was lost. The nursing nun, suffered a white martyrdom and has also since been beatified.

This is why Rosary is so important

Pope Leo XIII who died 81 years ago today is called “The Pope of the Rosary”.

“From his youth, Pope Leo XIII had a strong devotion to Mary. Through the discovery of the Marian writings of St. Louis de Montfort in 1846, and the subsequent investigations into these writings as part of de Montfort’s beatification cause, Pope Leo XIII was deeply influenced by de Montfort’s Marian thought. He was so enamored with True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin that he granted an indulgence to anyone who consecrated themselves to Mary using St. Louis de Montfort’s method. Another source of Marian inspiration for Pope Leo XIII was the work of Blessed Bartolo Longo in Pompeii.

Pope Leo XIII was very open to private revelation. He promoted the Brown Scapular, instituted the Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, wrote an apostolic letter promoting pilgrimages to Marian shrines, especially Lourdes, and received the visionary of La Salette, Mélanie Calvat, in two separate private audiences. He so loved Lourdes that he commissioned the construction of a Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens. Following the thought of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, he taught that a Christian trying to live their faith without Mary is comparable to a bird trying to fly without wings. In his many Marian writings, he emphasized that it is Our Lady who is capable of bringing about obedience to the Vicar of Christ among all Christians. He was the first pope to have his voice recorded; on the recording, he’s singing the Hail Mary.

Pope Leo XIII wrote an incredible 11 encyclicals on the rosary, promulgated numerous apostolic letters on the rosary, and gave countless messages on the rosary to various dioceses and religious institutes. …He tirelessly taught that the rosary was the most effective means of expanding the kingdom of Jesus Christ in the world and was of benefit to both individuals and society at large. He encouraged everyone to pray the rosary every day, and especially encouraged priests and missionaries to preach the rosary, since it has the power to expel evil and heal the sores of the human heart.

Pope Leo XIII dedicated the month of October to the rosary, granted many indulgences to the rosary, approved a comprehensive list of the indulgences attached to the rosary, supported the construction of the Basilica of the Rosary in Lourdes, inserted the title “Queen of the Most Holy Rosary” into the Litany of Loreto, wrote a charter for the Confraternity of the Rosary, encouraged the Dominicans to promote the rosary, and supported the rosary apostolate of Blessed Bartolo Longo at the Basilica of the Rosary in Pompeii. Even a shortened version of his famous Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel is now commonly prayed at the end of the rosary. The writings of Pope Leo XIII highlighted a special blessing: To pray the rosary is to pray with the holy angels, since it was the Archangel Gabriel who uttered the first Ave. Pope Leo XIII will forever be the pope of the rosary.” (Fr Don Calloway)

CALLING ALL MEN !

Saturday 6th August... Carlingford. Road R173. Opposite the village green and beside the coastal wall

Saturday 3rd September... Portadown. Market St, in front of St Mark's C of I Church

Saturday 1st October... Derry. To the side of the Guildhall.

Saturday 5th November. Coleraine, Church St. Where Park Street and New Street join it.

Saturday 3rd December. Belfast. Castle Junction, outside TK Maxx.

‼️ NOTE THERE IS AN EXTRA ROSARY IN OCTOBER IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY.

Why Men’s Rosary of Reparation?

St. Luis de Montfort told us public prayer more powerful then private prayer. Scripture tells us if we repent God will heal our land :

“And my people, upon whom my name is called, being converted, shall make supplication to me, and seek out my face, and do penance for their most wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and will heal their land”
2 Chronicles 7:14

Our Lady instructed St. Louis de Montfort that those who recite the rosary on their knees will receive extra graces. Men have a particular role to play.

Let’s repent to the Lord:
- For all the ways our nation has turned away from the Gospel and Catholic Church teaching
- For abortion, contraception and all forms of impurity.

In His mercy let’s ask for:
- an end to the entire covid circumstances
- An end to the signs of growing tyranny coming upon our nation
- Conversion of our nation back to God

At Fatima, Our Lady promised to grant the “graces necessary for salvation” for all those who, on five consecutive first Saturdays of the month, in a spirit of reparation:
1. Receive the Eucharist
2. Go to confession
3. Pray the rosary
4. Meditate 15mins on the mysteries of the rosary.

Might YOU keep this monthly rosary running in YOUR town ?

Ave Maria +
