Martin Stapleton for IFA President
My name is Martin Stapleton. I’m a dairy farmer, farming in Oola, Co Limerick with my family.
“The President of the IFA for 2024 – 2028 needs to unite the organisation as the force in Irish agriculture it once was. I am convinced that my progressive approach will reassert our influence as a powerful voice for farmers when lobbying the governments in Dublin and Brussels. I have the experience and the drive to succeed in restoring respect for
farmers, to give farmers the right to farm as they see fit, to protect our incomes and to unify the IFA."
We are another week closer to the count.
My team are still working hard and are enjoying meeting and speaking with IFA members around the country.
I would ask those still to vote, to consider myself for IFA President.
I will do my utmost for you!
I will represent you!
I will listen to you!
I will bring IFA back to what it once was!
It was a unique privilege to see my mother vote in the .ie Presidential election.
All IFA election ballots are now issued. If you have not received your election pack or if it has been lost or damaged please contact your local IFA office or call 0818 924 852.
Remember to post your ballots back to arrive, by post, before 5pm on December 11th.

When I was Chairman of the IFA’s Farm Business Committee, I issued a warning that if someone were to buy the land the IFA would ensure local farmers would refuse to co-operate with them.
This would effectively have rendered the land worthless to any potential buyer.
I also said there are about 2,000 farm families around the country who are in serious difficulties over debt and that attempted forced sales like the McCann’s looked set to become more common in the months and years ahead.
