I will be volunteering in Lesvos, Greece for the month of February with , who facilitate spaces for refugees to exercise and partake in sports classes. We all know how valuable sport can be for your mental & physical health as well as creating a sense of community, so I am very excited to help YSR deliver their programmes.
I was delighted to be introduced to this project through I just made an application (for free) and they matched me with a charity suited to my skill set. I was nervous to go for it but I have received lots of resources and training courses since and am really looking forward to travelling now! I would encourage anyone interested to have a browse of their website βΊοΈ
Iβve been planning this for a few months and the need to support displaced people has becoming increasingly apparent to me since, with the multiple ongoing humanitarian crises and the horrifying anti-immigrant riots, which I happened to be in Dublin City during. Thereβs a new brilliant podcast by called Small World π which brings together well-known Irish voices and individuals from refugee backgrounds living in Ireland. Itβs a really good stepping stone to understanding the gravity of this situation.
Before I go to Lesvos, I will be hosting a Coffee Morning, thanks to my family for agreeing to open the shop uncharacteristically of a Sunday! All profits made that day will be donated to the 2 organisations ( & ). We will also have a second hand clothing sale for which all proceeds will be donated. The event will go on from 10am-3pm π°οΈ (I know itβs not morning but we used to always hold βcoffee morningsβ for charity in school π)
I hope you can join us on the day! If youβd like to donate & canβt make it thereβs a link in my bio on
Thank you & take care π

Guatemala has always stood out to us for their distinctive and delicious coffees. The most prolific Guatemalan coffee growing regions - including Huehuetenango - benefit from rich volcanic soil, high altitudes, a tropical climate and lengthy rainy seasons.
This coffee is roasted in the half way point between light to medium coffee. So there's plenty of body but it's kept that crisp citric acidity with lots of caramel & brown sugar tasting notes.
Fun fact - Guatemala is in Central America and not in fact in South America as our labels like to tell us. If anyone wants a job of proof reading our labels before going to print, you'd save us a lot of hardship. π
PRODUCER: Alfonso Anzuete
FARM: Calahute, Huehuetenango (220ha)
VARIETY: Bourbon - Catimor
PROCESS: Fully Washed
TASTING NOTES: Caramel - Brown Sugar - Raisins - Dates - Creamy Body - Light Citric Acidity
Available in store & online with nationwide delivery!
