My latest commission all framed up in it's gorgeous timber deep box frame for a fantastic Limerick business.
I've had a good few enquiries since I posted about this yesterday and a few new orders even.
I absolutely love that I get to draw and paint every day as my job.
Little did I know when I first started studying architecture years (and years) ago that what I really wanted to do was sketch buildings as they are!

My next Summer Sale is coming right up... lots of these pieces have never been on sale before. They are not even on my website yet...

A little on the background of this series, titled "Forage." I worked on these nearly a year ago where I was totally inspired by where I live, all of the wild plants, shrubs and even weeds!
While out on walks along the road, I started to notice the patterns of the leaves and how pretty they are. I wanted to pare back the design and looked at using the cyanotype method of creating an image. I never knew how the image was going to turn out until the process was finished and I think that was part of the fun! They would be so fab as 2 / 3 or even on their own.

So I'm back painting a small run of mini framed pieces today, the framed size is 28.5cm x 28.5cm.
This piece titled "Hope" lifts me up, hope you like it!

My series is coming along nicely 👌

A piece I've been working on, as you probably noticed by now, I work on something and then put it away for a while and then come back to it! 😁 any other artist like this?
I'm really liking how the black outline is working with the piece.

I would love to create this as a wall paper!
I painted this piece 2 years ago but came back to it this morning to see how my new concept would work with it. It's a large piece but the snippets are lovely on their own. I've the black base outline layer done and will let it dry off and then come back to it. Walk away Orla... 🫠

A new piece from my latest yet to be titled work. The idea behind this series was to just draw what's going on around me, I let my mind wander and sketched what I wanted. Adding the black permanent marker is a new thing I'm trying as I usually have paints and I'm mixing, blending paint etc but here you can't hide anything 😁🤪

We had a fantastic night at Businesswoman of the the awards last night in The .
While I didn't win in the Creative Professional category, I was thrilled to have been picked as one of the finalists on the night and well done to everyone 🥰
An added bonus was getting all glammed up for the night! I was delighted to see that my art (that was given out to the judges) matched the vibrantly coloured theme of the night, serious style there last night 🎨👗

Really looking forward to this tomorrow night Network Ireland Limerick. My first awards ceremony and I'm thrilled to have been nominated as one of the finalists in the Creative Professional category.

Throwback to some really vibrant work! I think whether it's seascapes, nature or people, I always manage to make the piece pop!🟡🟢🟣🟠🔴🔵

My first piece finished in this series. Series yet to be titled! There's so much freedom to working on this but at the same time everything has to be considered before you put the pen on the canvas so it's a different way of thinking for me 😅

3rd post in a day but I think I'm still on a role between seeing the Northern Lights and coming home from the group exhibition!
I'm delighted to say that I sold this large piece to a lovely couple who saw it and bought it straight away. I'm already planning more in this series. More on that soon!

So strange to see but stunning! Especially since I had spent so long working on a triptych of the aurora borealis only lately.

Taken outside my front door tonight, I never thought I'd see the sky like that ever!
