New study asks: Should we replace mental health meds with exercise? 23/02/2020

Hi Everyone,

A nice article below I came across showing a link between exercise and improved mental health. There might be people here who have mental health problems or know someone going through a struggle with mental health. Exercise may just be the answer. Don't be afraid to share it might just make the difference. 👍

New study asks: Should we replace mental health meds with exercise? We knew exercise is necessary, but this research takes it to another level.

Hi guys just a few updates I’ve made recently.

Dry needling is now available as a treatment.

As well as that I’ve invested in some recovery gear. The Air Relax boots are ideal for relieving tired, heavy legs. So weather you’re at the top level of sports or a weekend warrior looking to avoid the next day pain get in contact to book a session or rent them out.
The Abox massage gun is another handy tool to relive tight muscles so if you’re someone who suffers from tight muscles in any part of your body and a regular sports massage isn’t your thing the you might want to give this a try.

I’ll be closing for Christmas on Monday the 23rd and I’ll be back on the 6th on January.

As always if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me.

Merry Christmas to you all and thank you for your support in 2019.

Sign the Petition Insurance Company Recognition for Certified Athletic Therapists

Timeline photos 14/07/2019

As a Certified Athletic Therapist, I've completed a 4 year honours degree, completed a minimum of 475 hours of hands on clinical interning under qualified healthcare professionals. After which I was completed a centrally controlled theory and practical exam, in which the pass mark was set to 70% and is set by our governing body (Athletic Rehabilitation Therapy Ireland). I must then have received training to a minimum of emergency first responder certification before proudly calling myself a Certified Athletic Therapist.

Surely this would be both an adequate level of qualification in order to be recognised by health insurance providers on the Island of Ireland, and for our recognition to be a worthwhile endeavour for health insurance policy holders and issuers alike.

Certified Athletic Therapists aim to help people, from all walks of life, lead a healthy and active lifestyle for as long as possible.
We promote physical activity as, not only a hobby to protect against many health problems associated with physical inactivity, but as a primary treatment avenue, one which has been shown to be the highest value, and most cost effective option in a plethora of musculoskeletal disorders.

Greater emphasis on patient education, self-efficacy, self-management and home exercise from Certified Athletic Therapists would minimise time spent in "treatment", time-loss from work, number of treatment sessions required and ultimately, the cost and personal impact of healthcare for patients with musculoskeletal pain or injury.

Recognise us, then let us do our best to help you and your policy holders.
