As we are starting back our Embroidery classes on Tuesday we thought we'd share some ideas on how to use embroidery on your clothes

Embroidering on clothes is a lot like any embroidery project!! The easiest fabrics to embroider on are medium-weight materials made of natural fibers that don’t contain elastic such as 100% cotton t-shirts, denim jackets and jeans, and linen button-ups are great to choose. 🪡 It’s also possible to embroider on knitting, as seen in one of the images!!
Choosing An Area To Stitch 🪡
The easiest places to stitch on clothes are where you can place a small embroidery hoop. It’s ideal to place the design in an area that doesn’t contain thick layers of fabric or seam lines which can make it really hard to pull the needle and thread through. Add beads & other embellishments to really make your garment unique

Another stunning wrap knit by the very talented Susanne using up a lot of her Merino 4 ply stash from pattern SSP (slip stitch party) shawl by Isabell Kraemer 💓As always Susanne this is just so gorgeous, the detail & colour combo work so well together 😍

SSP is worked flat (sideways), increasing along one edge to create an asymmetrical triangle. Stitches are increased in the slip stitch pattern and then onward into the 1x1 ribbing. A built-in slip stitch edge and the slip stitch colorwork (you only work with one color on any given row) will be the perfect introduction into colorwork (promise - you will have nothing but fun😁) The combination of easy slip stitch patterns and the sportive wide ribbing give this shawl a sophisticated yet casual look. This filling material is firm but soft and suitable for handmade stuffed animals, including amigurumi and handmade pillows. The synthetic filling is made from 100% recycled polyester (recycled plastic bottles). This sustainable filling material is fire-retardant and anti-allergic, therefore suitable for various hobby projects. It is washable up to 60°C. We've had so many enquiries about Trish's beautiful crochet cardigan we wanted to show you the previous one she also did from same pattern using the same yarn 💓
These two cardigans are crocheted in Stylecraft Recreate from Pattern 9966 and feature beautiful granny square motifs. Trish tweaked the shorter one {the navy one} by adding a row of granny squares to the hemline which we actually preferred here in the shop 🥰 What's your thoughts?? They are both stunning Trish, well done!! I think a certain member of staff might just be doing one at the moment 😁✨
