Is chocolate bad for children..??

No, chocolate is not bad for children. However because it contains sugar and fat as well as cocoa, it should be eaten in moderation, as the liver and kidneys of children are not yet able to process large quantities of these substances

Chocolates in particular do not cause tooth decay. Very often, children tend to eat chocolates in between their meals and do not rinse or brush. This leads to greater level of plaque formation, thereby, starting off the process of decay. Not just chocolates any sticky foods can lead to tooth decay.

How to mantain their hygiene..??

Brush your own teeth while your child is brushing. Get down on their level so they can see what you are doing. Demonstrate how to brush in circles, like train wheels going around on a track from left-to-right and right-to left. Show them how you brush all their teeth, top and bottom, front and back.

Brush teeth twice daily for about 2 minutes with fluoride toothpaste. Brush last thing at night before bed and on 1 other occasion. Use children's fluoride toothpaste containing no less than 1,000ppm of fluoride (check label) unless a dentist advises family toothpaste containing between 1,350ppm and 1,500ppm fluoride.
