ORIENTATION PROGRAMME ON DEFENCE RECRUITMENT
LIBRARY AND LIBRARY RULES
1.The Library :
The college Library contains 16,000 books arranged subject wise in section and subsection. The members of staff and students of the College may Library.
2.The Library Rules :
a) The Library opens during the college hours on all working days.
b) No books will be taken out of the Library without the knowledge of the Librarian.
c)The students are entitled to keep the library books for 15days. After that they will give fine @ 0.50ps. per day for a book till the date of return.
d) Borrower must examine the condition of damage condition the books before the issue, otherwise in case of utilization discovered later the presumption will be against the borrower.
e) In no case the books may be retained with the borrower beyond the prescribed period.
f)The borrower must return the Library books before vacations on or before the date notified for the purpose.
g) The college has got a right to requisition the books issued to the borrower at any time.
h) The books should ensure to return the books without any damage.
i) Strict silence may be observed inside the Library and no personal articles or books may be brought into the Library. Shoes are kept outside the Library.
j) The following table shows the maximum number of books that may be issues to various sections of the borrowers.

COLLEGE HOSTEL
1.Option for admission to Hostel is to be mentioned in application form.
2. Admission into hostel will be made on the basis of merit.
3.Only vegetarian food is provided to the boards on no loss and no profit basis.
Fees:
At the time of admission into hostel a student has to pay a caution money of Rs.100/- which will be refunded only after all dues are cleared at the of issuing college leaving certificate.
The following fees are payable monthly :
a. Hostel Seat Rent Rs.50.00
b. Mess Establishment Rs.250.00
c. Mess Charges Rs.1100.00
d. Electricity Charges Rs.130.00
e. Security charges Rs.40.00
f. Caution Money Rs.100.00
i) The boarders those who are absent for the whole month with prior permission of the Authority have to pay Rs.450/- towards Mess charges. In case of absence for whole month without prior permission, the boarders have to pay full.
ii) The boarders have to pay hostel establishment fees for the whole year even if she quits/forfeits her seat at any time dirihg the year.
Iii) If a boarder remains absent for a month without prior permission of the hostel superintendent her seat will be automatically cancelled.
iv) Date of collection of mess dues – 10th & 25th of every month Rs. 20 will be collected as fine for default mess payment.
Hostel Discipline :
Discipline and general rules in the hostel are to be abided by the boarders. Parents are requested to go through the hostel rules and instructions properly before leaving their wards in the hostel, They have to make their wards aware of the roles of the Hostel, so that they will not create any problem for hostel & college authorities at any time.

1. The first step of discipline is silence. Perfect silence must be maintained inside the hostel. The inmates are strictly forbidden to indulge in loud talk and idle chat.
2. The inmates have to submit at the beginning of the year the names of their father- or natural guarding and local guardian and two passport size photographs of each visitors and local guardian are to be submitted. Boarders are allowed to go once in a fortnight on any holidays for shopping with their local guardians only.
Visiting Days : Saturday 3.10 P.M. to 5.00 P.M.
Sunday 9 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. & 3.00 P.M. to 5.00 P.M.
3. No visitor, both ladies and gents, will be alliwed to go upstirs, near to the boarders of the college at any circumstance.
4. No boarders will be allowed to keep mobile phones. This should be strictly observed. Violation of this rule will be seriously viewed.
5. The boarded can leave the hostel premises only with the permission of the superintendent. They can go home during vacation.
6. Cleanliness must be observed everywhere in the hostel, college and other places of halting.
7. Cases of illness should be promptly reported to the superintendent. Every boarded should furnish health card after admission.
8. The boarders are required to abide be other rules, notified by the warden from time to time.
9. Parents are requested to take their ward from the hostel on the last working
10. Without prior permission of the principal, no boarder shall remain absent from any examination.
11. Students are advised not to keep costly ornaments or articles with them. Money and other valuable books be kept under lock and key when not in use.
12. Students not qualifying in examination will not be ordinarily allowed to stay in the Hostel.

SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL
1.National Scholarship
The Scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit, Ordinarily Students who have secured 70% in aggregate in HSC Examination are Likely to get this Scholarship . The Annual Income of case of those who apply.
2.Junior College Merit Scholarship
The students who have secured 50% in aggregate in the HSC/ Examination are eligible to apply. The students passing the supplementary examination are not eligible to apply.
3.Senior College Merit Scholarship
Awarded on the basis of +2 marks to the students of Degree Classes.
4.Post-Metric Scholarship for SC/ST Students.
Stipends are given to the S.C and S.T. students from the T.R.W. Department of Odisha.
5.Scholarship for the children of Freedom Fighters.
6.National Scholarship for Teacher’s Children.
Awarded to the children of primary School Teachers or Secondary School Teachers whose aggregate marks must be at least 60% in the HSC Examination .
7.Aid to Children of Ex-Servicemen
Aid is available from the Government of Orissa to the Children of Ex-Serviceman
8.Scholarship for Orthopedically Handicapped Students
Awarded to the lame, deaf or orthopaedically handicapped students whose age should be between 17-30 years. The Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in the previous Annual High School Certificate Examination or Higher Secondary Certificate Examination.
9. Funds donated by the persons, to Award prizes to college students out of the accumulated interest on the donation.

STUDY CIRCLE & SEMINARS
One of the important feature of the college is that different department arranges seminars and national seminars regularly. Eminent Speakers and educationists are invited to give lectures.
In the last period students who do not have any classes sit for learning Sloka, Bhagawat Geeta and Chanting of Veda.
Utilizing the leisure hours
General as well as spiritual quiz, Teaching of bhajans devotional songs, story telling, the art of public speaking, indoor and outdoor games are conducted during leisure hours of students. The teachers engage the students in various activities for their all round development during their leisure periods.
Lectures, Proctorials and practicals
a. As soon as the proctorial gropues are formed and notified it is the duty of a student to find out the Particular group to which she has been assigned. If she is not included in any of the groups, she must bring the fact to the notice of the Principal by writing an application.
b. Every student is required to attend her classes regularly and punctually. Continuous absence without leave is a serious breach of college discipline.
c. A student who arrives late may be allowed into the classroom if the concerned teacher allows.
d. A student should behave in the classroom in a disciplined manner and should be attentive to the lecture.
Proctorial system
a. Every student will be assigned with a proctorial group placed under the charge of a proctor who shall be a member of the teaching staff.
b. The student shall meet the proctor at least once a month or as many times as is necessary to discuss her difficulties and problems.
c. The student shall furnish all such information to the proctor as is required for the maintenance of the proctorial record.
d. The student shall always be available and readily meet the proctor as & when required and do the duties the proctor assign them from time to time.
Attendance
a. Under the regulation of the +2 Council and University a student , in order to be eligible for being sent up for the Council/University Examination, is under obligation to attend in each subject a minimum of 75% of lecture, tutorials and practical, etc. calculated separately.
b. Condonation of attendance between 60% and 75% may be granted in exceptional cases.
c. Further condonation of the attendance to the extent of 5% may be granted by the Syndicate, when the candidate represents, the University or state on deputation for specific purpose(to be recorded in writing)
d. Application for condonation of shortage of attendance on medical grounds will not be considered for the period, the college can struck out the name of the students from the college rolls citing any reason.
Payment of fees and fines
a. Fees must be paid on the day fixed for collection otherwise a fine of Rs.10/- will have to be paid per month, along with the fees.
b. Any kind of fine on grounds of indiscipline will be realized along with the tuition fee.
c. Students cannot claim exemption from the payment of default fine or re-admission fee as a matter of right.
d. College fees along with other fees, if any for the remaining months of the academic session will be realized from a student before she is allowed to fill up the Application form for the CHSE/University Examination.
e. Declaration collection of subscription by students for any purpose will be treated as a serious breach of college discipline.
Communication with Guardians
a. Guardians of the student may meet the Principal, the proctors and enquiry about the welfare and progress of their wards. They are also requested to meet the Principal whenever advised to do so.
b. Reports regarding undesirable activities in the part of the students may be communicated to the guardians from time to time for their information.

Opening prayer :
College starts with prayer. Participation of the students, teachers and other staff at the college prayer is compulsory. A special features of the college is the holding of spiritual education classes twice a week for each classes is to acquaint the students with rich traditions of Indian culture and basic truth of the world’s great religions and to inspire them with noble lives and exalted examples of religious thought and the Universal, Moral and Spiritual values which they are taught and upheld.

ADMISSION
E-adimission has been introduced in the college for both +2 and +3classes. On-line (www.dheorissa.in) admission through common Application form (CAF) has been made compulsory by the Government under student Academic Management System (SAMS). The college has its own SAMS Resource Centre. The applications for admission to +2 and +3 classes shall need to fill the application on-line and take a printout from the computer and deposit at any SAMS Resource Centre along with relevant documents & Fees.
Any SAMS Resource Centre may be contacted for details of admission common prospectus (CP) with details about e-admission can be downloaded from the website www.dheorissa.in.
Selection process :
Selection will be made on the basis of merit as well as college opted for as per e-admission process. Intimation letter for admission will be available on-line through sms, e-mail, College Notice Board. (For details see cp).
Date for submission of forms, selection and admission etc. are to be followed as per decision of the appropriate Authorities.
Admission to different classes will be undertaking in accordance with guidelinces / instructions issued by Government /DHSE/CHSE/University from time to time.
A candidate must produce following documents at the time of Admission.
a) Original School/College Leaving Certificate.
b) Original Mark Sheet of HSC/CHSE.
c) Conduct Certificate of the last institute attended.
d) Three copies of recent passport size photographs duly attested.

2. If fees is not paid in due date -Rs.50.00 fine is to be paid by the student.
3. For issue of duplicate Identity Card/Library Card and Bus pass-Rs.10.00
N.B.:-Collection of all dues during admission and re-admission will he made for 3(three)months to avoid irregular collections.
Payment of college fees
The college fees cover 12 calender months,which may be paid in monthly instalments. However parents may remits the fees in advance if they wish.parents may deposite the college dues in advance for one year in one instalment for the month from June to May with admission and re-admissin fees.
Last date of collection of the fee is on or before 15th of every month.
For any arrear dues late fee will be collected .50/- per month.
Fees will be collected in cash only in the SBI,Pokhariput Branch on all working days Monday to Friday from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.,Saturday 10 A.M. to 1 P.M.
If the pay-in slip is not filled in propely, the College /Bank will not be responsible for wrong credit of the amount of the respective head of accounts.
The Challan Book should be verified in college office atleast once in every three months to avoid discrepancy of payment.
All duties including college fees must be cleared before commencement of the form fill up of +2 2nd year (Arts and Science)+3 1st year Science.
If you want to deposite the college dues in other State Bank of India, other than the pokhariput Branch,they will deposite Rs. 25/-only extra for every deposite.
The booklet will be given to the parents free of cost at the beginning of the academic session or when the student is admitted. Parents should keep the booklet with them and produce it whenever required by the college for scrutiny Duplicate copy of the booklet can be issued on payment of Rs.10/-only after obtaining a certificate from the parents about the loss of previous one.
