Sending out positive vibes to all my friends and loved ones in New York City after hearing about the earthquake. Hoping everyone is safe and sound!
Why Earthquake in The New York City?
Earthquakes are natural phenomena that occur when there is a sudden release of energy within the Earth's crust, resulting in seismic waves that shake the ground. While earthquakes are commonly associated with regions along tectonic plate boundaries, such as the Pacific Ring of Fire, they can occur in unexpected places like New York City.
Contrary to popular belief, earthquakes in places like New York City are not directly caused by climate change. Instead, they are typically the result of geological factors such as faults and stress within the Earth's crust.
In the case of New York City, the city sits atop the North American Plate, which is generally considered stable compared to more seismically active regions. However, the presence of ancient faults and the accumulated stress within the crust can still lead to occasional seismic activity.
Additionally, human activities such as mining, reservoir-induced seismicity, and geothermal energy extraction can also contribute to localized earthquakes. While climate change itself may not directly trigger earthquakes, it can indirectly influence the frequency and intensity of seismic events through its impact on geological processes such as melting ice caps and rising sea levels, which can alter stress distributions within the Earth's crust over time.
Understanding the causes and impacts of earthquakes is crucial for communities to prepare and mitigate risks associated with seismic events.
Through continued research and monitoring, scientists strive to improve our understanding of earthquake dynamics and enhance early warning systems to minimize the loss of life and property damage caused by these natural disasters.

Today, on World Happiness Day, which coincides with World Storytelling Day, it's the perfect opportunity to celebrate the joy of storytelling and its profound connection to happiness.
My storytelling journey began in 2005 with a simple observation: the joy in my daughter's eyes as she listened to stories. This sparked an idea - to share this magic with more children. Organizing a summer camp centered on storytelling, theater, and music, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power stories held to captivate and inspire.
As I delved deeper into the art of storytelling, I realized its inherent link to happiness. Stories have a unique ability to transport us to different worlds, evoke emotions, and foster connections. They ignite our imagination, spark creativity, and provide moments of escapism from the challenges of everyday life.
Moreover, storytelling has a profound impact on mental well-being. It offers a means of self-expression, catharsis, and reflection, allowing individuals to explore their emotions and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Whether through sharing personal narratives or engaging with fictional tales, storytelling can promote empathy, resilience, and a sense of belonging, all of which are integral to happiness and fulfillment.
Furthermore, storytelling brings people together. It creates bonds, fosters community, and celebrates diversity. Whether gathered around a campfire, attending a storytelling festival, or sharing anecdotes with friends, the act of storytelling cultivates a sense of connection and shared humanity that contributes to overall happiness and well-being.
On this World Happiness Day, let us celebrate the power of storytelling to inspire joy, foster connections, and promote happiness in our lives and communities. Each one of us is a storyteller in our own unique way, and by spreading the joy of storytelling, we can create a brighter, more joyful world for all.
"The 20th of March is celebrated as World Storytelling Day. The first World Storytelling Day was celebrated only in Sweden in 1991, known as 'Alla berättares dag' (All Storytellers Day).
The theme of this year is '*BUILDING BRIDGES*!'
Let's meet up to share stories with a cup of coffee, play story games, and fill our hearts with happiness. Invite your friends, some artists, singers, painters, and designers whom you secretly admire. Tell them about World Storytelling Day and that the theme of this year is Building Bridges. Let's explore how to build a bridge between our art forms.
Ahhhaa, it's also the International Day of Happiness!
Join us to tell your story and share your happiness!
*Your story can be 8 minutes long, with few minutes of discussion and insights after the story.
*Let's build bridges through tales and some amazing games!*

Great job to all the participants in today's BAIT competition! Your well-reasoned arguments and eloquent delivery were impressive. I appreciate the depth of research and the respectful atmosphere. To enhance future debates, consider adding more real-life examples and practicing rebuttals. Keep up the excellent work, and remember that debating is not just about winning but also about constructive discussions and personal growth. Kudos to the organizers for fostering critical thinking skills!"

11-year-old Arnav from Chennai , created this game by writing a computer program. Coding improves analytical thinking abilities and creativity by 300%. We hope his creation will inspire other children to take up coding and become an innovator.
As per his teacher,
“Arnav is very curious, which makes him experiment with the available choices. He is exploratory and thinks of out of the box solutions to solve coding problems.”
