I Love Mungpoo

This bungalow was built by the British. Locally Called SUREL KOTHI, it is under the Chincona Plantation. As legend goes, Gurudev Rabindranath Thakur (Tagore) came here and wrote CAMELIA, sitting under a Camelia tree. It was burnt during the agitation on 22nd January 1988.
Here,4 giant Araucaria Bidwillii, as the local people refer to it, reminds one of the old days. The trunk diameters are approximately 5 feet. Araucaria Bidwillii popularly known as The Monkey-puzzle Tree.
