After nearly 28 years, I have decided to embark on an academic journey once again. I am thrilled to share that I have successfully passed the Social Auditor Examination conducted by NISM. It has always been my passion to work in the social sector, and I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to work in the area I am most passionate about.

✨ A social audit is a process that evaluates an organization's social, environmental, and ethical performance. It involves assessing the organization's impact on stakeholders, such as employees, communities, customers, and the environment. Here are a few key concepts related to social audits:

👉 Stakeholder Engagement: Social audits emphasize involving stakeholders throughout the process, understanding their concerns, gathering their input, and considering their perspectives.
👉 Triple Bottom Line: The triple bottom line recognizes that an organization's performance should be evaluated based not only on financial results but also on its social and environmental impacts. Social audits strive to achieve a balance among these three dimensions.
👉 Materiality: Materiality refers to the significance of social, environmental, or ethical issues to an organization and its stakeholders. Social audits prioritize identifying and addressing material issues that are most relevant.
👉 Transparency and Accountability: Social audits promote transparency by encouraging organizations to disclose their practices, goals, and performance. This fosters accountability and responsible actions.
👉 Continuous Improvement: Social audits are an ongoing process, aiming to identify areas for improvement and drive positive change. Monitoring and evaluation enable organizations to track progress and adapt their practices over time.

These concepts are fundamental to effectively implementing social audits, enabling organizations to become more socially responsible and sustainable.

📈 Social investing worldwide is projected to grow to $53 trillion by 2025. In India, the social audit sector has received a boost with the Government of India proposing the concept of a Social Stock Exchange. There is already a discussion about CSR audits, presenting immense opportunities for social audit professionals.
