I want to extend my gratitude to Empowering the Vision for the financial support provided during my internship at Bir, Mentsekhang. This stipend was essential in helping me manage my expenses during this period.
Throughout my six-month internship, I gained practical knowledge and skills in administering medical and health care, complementing the theoretical foundation acquired in medical school. This experience was pivotal in bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world medical practice.
Internships serve as a catalyst for personal and professional development, fostering a sense of responsibility towards patients, their families, and the healthcare organization. They offer a hands-on learning opportunity that is crucial in preparing us for the challenges of medical practice post-graduation.

Attending the European Bartending School was truly transformative, providing me with the essential skills and knowledge for bartending while nurturing a deep respect for the craft. The daily commitment and specialized content were invaluable, and I believe this course would be highly esteemed in countries where professional skills outweigh qualifications. I am enthusiastic about future opportunities, including the Sidecar bar owners’ course, to continue developing my skills and advancing in the bartending industry. Internships or bar back positions are also of interest to me as I pursue further growth in this field.

My two-month internship at Tibet Express was a transformative experience in journalism, emphasizing the critical role of attention to detail. This opportunity filled the gap between theory and practice, offering hands-on exposure to independent Tibetan newsrooms. Working at Bangchen, the Tibetan news channel, provided real-time experience in news production, honing my ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. I gained valuable insights into the news collection process, emphasizing information filtration and gatekeeping. Collaborating with the English editorial team in printing production underscored the importance of substantial evidence in addressing global and Tibetan issues. These two months have been invaluable, preparing me for a promising career in journalism.

The GTPN Summit 2024, hosted at the Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, marked a significant milestone with the active participation of 50 Tibetan professionals.
Originating in 2008 as part of the Empowering the Vision Project, the Global Tibetan Professional Network (GTPN) initiative fosters a supportive network, encourages community contributions, and incubates innovative ideas.
The summit showcased the vibrancy of this network through engaging activities and group discussions.
The key takeaways of the Summit are:
1. The formulation of five key action plans for GTPN initiatives in South India.
2. The appointment of new voluntary executive members for GTPN Bangalore, strengthening the organization’s leadership.
3. A hands-on experience provided to professionals in giving back to society through interactive sessions with over 40 Tibetan college students.
4. Notably, participants funded their own attendance, reflecting a commitment to self-sustainability and empowerment.
5. The summit also prioritized environmental responsibility, employing eco-friendly alternatives like biodegradable conference badges and opting for computers over paper to reduce carbon footprints.
6. Volunteer opportunity to 40+ Tibetan college students
The GTPN Summit 2024 helped connect, strengthen, and collaborate among Tibetan professionals to contribute back to the community.
Thank you for funding the summit
