The Embassy started ( ) club 🍵 for its staff. We regularly meet for practice sessions of Omotesenke school of tea ceremony at the tea room in the Ambassador’s residence.
Tea ceremony or Sado(茶道), a traditional Japanese culture, involves preparing and serving tea to guests to calm the mind and embodies the spirit of hospitality, wabi, and sabi.
The hanging scroll in the first photo reads ‘和敬清寂, Wa-Kei-Sei-Jyaku,’ meaning ‘harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.’ This reflects the tea ceremony's essence, established by Sen no Rikyu(千利休). He is regarded as a great tea master who perfected the art of tea ceremony.
We hope more Indians discover the beauty of Japanese culture.

We invited students learning Japanese language to an interactive student exchange event in the Embassy. We were delighted to see the students discuss various topics in Japanese with the Embassy officials and Japanese students.
We also promoted our people-to-people exchange programs, such as (Japanese Government Scholarship Programme) and (The Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme).
We hope these students will act as a strong bridge between 🇯🇵 and 🇮🇳 in the future.

“the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS)” provides scholarship to young public service officers in Bhutan which will help them to earn either Master’s degree or PhD degree from higher educational institutions in Japan.

“the Project for Reconstruction of Bridges on Primary National Highway No.1 in Mongar District” will replace the bridge located over the National Highway No. 1 in Mongar District.

It is expected that these two projects will help improve policy capacity of the Bhutanese government and further contribute to the strengthening of friendship and cooperation that cordially exists between the two countries.

✨🌸The long-awaited time of the year has finally arrived!! 🌸✨
Cherry blossoms(called sakura in 🇯🇵) are in full bloom in Japan!!

The blooming period is short and people enjoy its fleeting beauty at nearby roadsides as well as tourist spots.
In addition, cherry blossoms are beautiful not only during the day but also at night.

Did you know that there are places in 🇮🇳 where cherry blossoms bloom? Cherry blossoms bloom in November in Shillong, Meghalaya and other parts of the northeastern region of India.
These pictures display cherry blossoms from all over Japan this year🇯🇵, except for one pic🤫!

One of these photos shows last year’s cherry blossoms in Shillong. Take a guess and tell us in the comments which one is it🤭
Let us know which sakura is your favourite also.
