IMPORTANT MYTH VS FACT
🚨 10 TIPS TO BE FOLLOWED AFTER NON-SURGICAL TOOTH REMOVAL 🚨
After a non-surgical tooth extraction, it's crucial to follow these instructions for proper healing:
1. Bite on Gauze: Bite down gently on the gauze pad placed by your dentist to reduce bleeding and allow a blood clot to form (30mins to 1 hour as advised by your doctor) Note - Do not place another cutton after removing first one.
2 Apply Ice Packs: Use ice packs on the outside of your face to reduce swelling. Apply for 15 minutes at a time, with breaks in between
3. Eat Soft ,Simple Foods: Stick to a diet of soft foods for the first few days, gradually reintroducing solid foods as you feel comfortable
4. Avoid Rinsing or Spitting: Avoid rinsing your mouth vigorously or spitting for the first 24 hours after extraction, as this can dislodge the blood clot and delay healing.
5.Take Prescribed Medication: If your dentist has prescribed any pain relievers or antibiotics, take them as directed to manage pain and prevent infection.
6. Be Gentle with Oral Care: Brush and floss gently around the extraction site, avoiding the area itself to prevent irritation.
7. Avoid Smoking, To***co consumption and Alcohol: Refrain from smoking , consuming to***co and consuming alcohol, as they can delay healing and increase the risk of complications.
8. Avoid Gyms, Workouts, Weightlifting: Avoid doing any activity for 24 hours which can raise your heart rate and blood flow, which may be a threat to the freshly formed blood clot.
9. Increase Liquid Consumption and stay hydrated: Nonaerated drinks which can help you stay hydrated should be consumed with more frequency ( Note : Do not use straw for taking any liquid for 24 hours)
10. Attend Follow-Up Appointments: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments with your dentist to ensure proper healing and address any concerns.
Monitor Signs of Complications: Keep an eye out for signs of infection, such as increasing pain, swelling, or fever, and contact your dentist if you experience any of these symptoms.
Following these instructions diligently will help promote a smooth and speedy recovery.
