मुख्त्यार सिंह मैमोरियल पी.जी. कॉलेज बहबलपुर में भारतीय एकता के प्रतीक, महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी, देश के पहले उप प्रधानमंत्री एवं पहले गृह मंत्री सरदार वल्लभ भाई पटेल की 147वीं जयंती मनाई गई। महाविद्यालय की डायरेक्टर अमनदीप कौर, प्राचार्य डॉ. ओ.पी. नागपाल तथा एनएसएस कार्यक्रम अधिकारी मांगे राम ने सरदार पटेल को श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित किए। कॉलेज प्राचार्य डॉ. ओ.पी. नागपाल ने विद्यार्थियों को सम्बोधित करते हुए कहा कि देश की स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति के बाद लौह पुरूष सरदार पटेल नेे पूरे राष्ट्र को एकता के सूत्र में जोड़ने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। इसी के चलते प्रतिवर्ष 31 अक्तूबर को समस्त देश में उनकी जयंती को राष्ट्रीय एकता दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस अवसर पर सरदार पटेल की जीवनी व योगदान पर आधारित निबंध प्रतियोगिता, भाषण प्रतियोगिता, रंगोली प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन भी किया गया।
