Recipe: Healthy Ragi Soup🍜

Today, I'm sharing a heartwarming Ragi Soup recipe that's not just a bowl of warmth but a hug in every spoonful.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Ragi (finger millet) flour
4 cups water
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
1 carrot, peeled and diced
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil or ghee
Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Prepare Ragi Paste:

In a mixing bowl, combine Ragi flour with 1 cup of water. Mix well to form a smooth paste. Ensure there are no lumps.
Prepare the Soup Base:

Heat oil or ghee in a pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute until aromatic.
Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
Add Vegetables:

Add diced carrots and chopped spinach to the pot. Stir and cook for a few minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
Add Ragi Paste:

Pour the Ragi paste into the pot while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Add 3 cups of water gradually, stirring continuously to maintain a smooth consistency.
Simmer and Cook:

Let the soup simmer on low heat for about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. Adjust the consistency by adding more water if needed.

Taste and Adjust:

Taste the soup and adjust the salt and pepper according to your preference. If the soup is too thick, you can add more water to reach the desired consistency.
Serve:

Garnish the hot Ragi soup with fresh cilantro leaves.
Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice on top for extra flavor.
Enjoy your nutritious and hearty Ragi soup!

Diet Chart For Beginners #2
Beginner Diet Chart for Weight Gain

Meal 1: Breakfast - 8:00 AM
2 slices of whole wheat toast with peanut butter
1 cup of Greek yogurt topped with mixed berries and granola
1 boiled egg

Snack - 10:30 AM
Handful of almonds or walnuts (about ¼ cup)
Banana

Meal 2: Lunch - 12:30 PM
Grilled chicken breast (4 to 6 ounces)
Quinoa or brown rice (½ to ¾ cup cooked)
Steamed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bell peppers) – about one fist-sized portion
Side salad with mixed greens and olive oil dressing

Snack -3:00 PM
Protein shake made with milk or a plant-based alternative, protein powder, banana, and nut butter

Meal 3: Dinner -6:00 PM
– Baked salmon fillet (4 to 6 ounces) – Sweet potato mash – about one medium-sized sweet potato – Sautéed spinach and mushrooms in olive oil – about one fist-sized portion

Snack/Dessert -9:00 PM Greek yogurt parfait layered with:
Greek yogurt – about one small container (~5.3 oz/150g)
Mixed berries – around half a cup
