Resonating with the above thought, Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, arranged an educational trip to Hared Renewable Energy Park in the month of May, for Moscienza and Tinkering Club students of classes VI to VIII.

Divided into groups, the students explored sections dedicated to various renewable energy sources like Solar Energy, Wind Energy and Hydro Energy. They engaged with interactive models that demonstrated the process of generating electricity, sparking students' enthusiasm and curiosity.

The visit concluded with a reflective session, where students shared their newfound knowledge and commitment to sustainability. This experience deeply impacted them, fostering a sense of responsibility as future environmental leaders.

A Certified Training Workshop on Financial Literacy, organized by CBSE, was conducted for the Pre- Primary & Primary teaching faculty of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok on Friday 17th May, 2024.

Ms. Ruchi Kathpalia, Headmistress Primary Wing welcomed the resource person, Ms. Ekta Saini, a versatile Category Management Professional with over 15 years of extensive experience across E-commerce, Supply Chain, Business Development, Marketing and Unit Head at Max Financials.

She emphasized the significance of financial planning, often underestimated despite its critical importance in today's high-inflation environment. The session highlighted the vital aspects of life and health insurance, stressing the essentiality of financial preparedness, including retirement planning. On Friday, 17th May 2024, Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, hosted the "Fun with Mathematics - Kalakriti Rangoli and String Art Competition" for classes VI and VII. The event uniquely fused mathematical concepts with cultural artistry, resulting in vibrant and intricate designs.

In the Kalakriti String Art competition, Satluj House claimed 1st position, while Ganges and Yamuna Houses tied for 2nd. Ravi and Jhelum Houses shared the 3rd position. Congratulations to all the winners and participants for showcasing exceptional creativity and mathematical skills, making learning both enjoyable and artistic.

Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, recently hosted an innovative event titled "Fun with Mathematics -Competition" on Friday, 17th May 2024, for the students of class VIII.

This event skillfully combined mathematical concepts with traditional cultural practices. The Kalakriti Rangoli competition saw
vibrant and creative designs from various teams.

The result of the creative endeavour is as follows:

The competition not only showcased the students' artistic talents but also emphasized the pratical application of mathematics in art, making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience.

Meet Ananya Dhanuka, a student from the Batch of 2020. She has been making waves as an Associate at the Boston Consulting Group, demonstrating the spirit and determination fostered at Delhi Public School Sushant Lok - Gurugram. Ananya was also the University Topper in Economics Honours in 2023. ✨

During the summer vacation, the school hosted a vibrant camp in collaboration with Stem Metaverse, from May 20th to 30th for grades Il to V.

This camp featured a variety of innovative, hands-on STEM activities that promoted problem-solving and critical thinking. Students in grades II and Ill explored vacuums, AR and VR, built rovers, and solved forensic mysteries. They also engaged in robotics, designed board games and clocks, and created sail ships and treasure hunts.

The students of grades IV and V took on more advanced projects, including building hydraulic cranes, constructing air vortexes, and designing amusement park models. They also delved into encryption and built magnet-propelled motor cars. The camp concluded with a joyous picnic, where students pitched tents and celebrated their achievements. This enriching experience left them energized and inspired to continue their STEM explorations.

Students of Class 1 embarked on a captivating journey on 15th May 2024, through the heart of our neighborhood, venturing into the Galleria Market! Along the way, they embraced the essence of our surroundings, discovering the charm of local spots and immersing themselves in the bustling atmosphere.

As they traversed the vibrant streets, our young adventurers delved into the world of utility shops, learning about the diverse offerings that cater to the needs of our community. But the highlight of their expedition was a visit to the timeless institution of the post office! Guided through the intricate postal process, their eyes gleamed with excitement as they beheld the iconic Post Box—a symbol of connection in an increasingly digital world.

Through this visit, students not only expanded their knowledge of the neighborhood but also cultivated a deeper appreciation for community services and the significance of traditional communication methods.

Delhi Public School Sushant Lok -Gurugram, observed World No To***co Day to highlight the health risks associated with to***co use and to advocate for policies to reduce to***co consumption. The theme for 2024, "Protecting Children from To***co Industry Interference," was emphasised.

Unleashing Creativity in the Classroom Comic Strip Activity for Grades IX & X

The recent Comic Strip classroom activity for grades IX and X was a huge hit! Students showcased their creativity by designing and presenting their comic strips, improving their storytelling skills, language proficiency, and visual expression.

Working individually or in groups, they chose themes from personal experiences to social issues, crafting engaging stories in multiple languages. Conducted by our expert foreign language teachers, the enthusiasm and engagement of the students were incredible, highlighting their imagination and originality.

This fun and educational exercise truly brought out the best in our students, making learning a colourful and dynamic experience!

On the last day of school before summer break, 17th May 2024, the Prep students of DPS Sushant Lok engaged in a heartwarming activity, creating cheer-up cards to mark the beginning of their summer vacation.

The classroom buzzed with excitement as the children enthusiastically decorated their cards with colorful drawings, stickers, and heartfelt messages. Each card was a unique expression of the students' creativity and joy, meant to uplift and bring smiles to friends, family, and even their teachers as they exchanged their cards with each other and wished 'Happy Holidays'.

This activity fostered a sense of community and kindness among the young learners, setting a positive tone as they headed into their summer break.

Movie Time!!

As with fables and stories, children’s movies are an excellent tool for educating them. Hence, to encourage learning beyond classroom, students of classes II & III had their movie day in PVR Metropolitan, Gurugram on 15th May and classes IV & V on 16th May. They were shown Paw Patrol and Kung Fu Panda- 4 respectively, and the simple entertaining cinematic experience taught the students values of respecting different cultures, team work, perseverance, sharing and caring.

This short educational experience was a welcome respite just before the school summer break. The students were filled with enthusiasm, curiosity and excitement in the company of their class mates and teachers. They were happy and shared their thoughts and learning with one another. A day well spent with full of learning, fun and entertainment!!

The innocence and creativity of Class 1 students shone brightly as they crafted beautiful cards for their moms, each one a masterpiece of gratitude and love. Not only did they share their handmade tokens of love, but they also proudly shared their favourite things about their moms which truly fostered empathy, appreciation, and a deeper understanding of familial love. Overall, this activity integrated emotional expression, creativity, and personal reflection, contributing significantly to the students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
