Topic: Cultivating Empathy: A Workshop by Go Sharpener on Animal Welfare

In a heartfelt initiative to foster empathy and compassion towards animals, Tagore Public School recently hosted an enriching workshop led by Go Sharpener, in collaboration with Mr. Inder Sandhu, the founder of PEEDU's People. PEEDU's People, an esteemed NGO dedicated to animal welfare in Chandigarh since 2016, brought their expertise to enlighten students on the importance of empathy towards our furry friends.
The workshop commenced with an enlightening discussion on the importance of showing empathy towards animals, emphasizing their inherent value in our world. They shared insightful anecdotes and facts about various animals, including wildlife species and street dogs, shedding light on their struggles and the need for human intervention in ensuring their well-being.
However, the most heartwarming moment of the workshop came with a surprise visit from a special guest - a charming dog named Rocky Singh. As Rocky entered the room, a wave of excitement rippled through the students. With his wagging tail and affectionate demeanor, Rocky quickly won the hearts of everyone present.
Students had the opportunity to meet Rocky up close, petting him and showering him with love. It was a joyous sight to behold as friendships blossomed between the students and their furry companion. Through this interaction, students not only experienced the joy of bonding with an animal but also developed a deeper sense of empathy towards all living beings.
As the workshop concluded, the message of empathy echoed in the hearts and minds of the students. This workshop by Go Sharpener served as a catalyst for igniting a sense of empathy that will undoubtedly resonate with the students for years to come, fostering a brighter future where animals are treated with the respect and care they deserve.

Workshop on Fostering Creativity and Promoting Drama (20 April 2024)

Tagore Public School, Sector-50, Gurugram organized a workshop on Fostering
Creativity and Promoting Drama in teachers. In a world where screens often steal
the spotlight, our school decided to shine a light on the joy of reading and drama.
Ms. Jasmine, from the organization Fritters, led this workshop. The session aimed
to equip teachers with fun ways to incorporate drama into learning, promoting
spontaneity and expressive skills. The workshop was full of interactive games and
role-playing activities. Teachers were encouraged to think on their feet and
embrace the unexpected, fostering a spirit of on-the-spot thinking. Through
various exercises, she showed how drama can boost confidence and empathy.
Teachers explored character expression and voice modulation, recognizing the
value of drama beyond entertainment. The workshop was a refreshing dive into
the power of drama in education. With newfound enthusiasm, teachers are ready
to cultivate creativity and quick thinking in their classrooms, thanks to Fritters and Ms.
Jasmine’s guidance.

Tagore Public School celebrated “The Earth Day” through a series of activities on 22nd April. The whole school took part in this “Go- Green initiative” .The students were reminded of simple doable actions towards Mother Earth.

In kindergarten, Earth Day was celebrated through educational and action-oriented activities that were fun. On the occasion of Earth Day, teachers showed PowerPoint presentations to remind the students of their duties towards Nature and some significant contributions that they can make to keep earth clean , safe and green.

The students planted saplings in pots and few were indulged in a craft activity. All the students took a pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet Earth. the students participated in these activities with great zeal and enthusiasm showcasing their artistic and creative skills. Teachers added the finishing touch by addressing the students and emphasising upon the importance of planting of trees and the need for everyone to put together their efforts and get into action, in protecting our environment.

This Earth Day, we celebrate our planet's health and pledge to nurture it for future generations. From sustainable practices to eco-conscious actions, let's cultivate a culture of environmental wellness at our school!

In a thrilling display of sports, Tagore Public School, Gurugram proudly announces the outstanding achievement of students in the recent boxing championship held at Rising Star Boxing Academy, Rajendera Park on 20-21April 2024. The event, which drew competitors from various district to showcased their skills and talent in the sport of boxing.
Around 350 students actively participated in the championship, our school bagged various medals in this field.

MUN Orientation Programme Organized by I.I.M.U.N. (12-04-2024)
The Model United Nations (MUN) plays a crucial role in promoting global awareness, diplomacy, and critical thinking among students. As we embark on a new academic year, it is essential to establish an effective framework for the activities. This includes the setting of an agenda that will guide the discussions, simulations, and debates. These steps will ensure that the MUN operates smoothly and provides a meaningful platform for students to enhance their knowledge of international affairs and diplomatic negotiations. Students of Grades VII to XII enthusiastically attended the orientation programme conducted.

Pooja who started her I.I.M.U.N. journey as an intern at the I.I.M.U.N. digital conference and now serves in the capacity of a Senior Director in the Conferences Department of the Organisation, coordinated by Ms. Geeta and Ms. Preeti on 12th April 2024. The aim of the training session was to spread awareness about the basics of the United Nations and the working of the committees. Learners were briefed about the concept of MUN (Model United Nations) and also about the wide array of opportunities in the same. Working and the structure of MUN were also introduced to the students to enable them to be familiar with the ideas of debating. students were also introduced about GENSOC MUN and their knowledge was assessed on what they gained through the interaction with Ms. Pooja. Students were able to grasp the basic and important concepts related to the foreign policies of various countries and their role on a global platform. Through this, learners were also familiarised with current affairs around the world in an interesting and engaging manner.
The idea of MUN was to encourage students at the school level to deliberate over issues being discussed by the global community and led them to understand that individuals can make a difference to the world.

Baisakhi Special Assembly (12-04-2024)
Baisakhi marks the first day of the month of Vaisakh and is traditionally celebrated annually on 13 April and sometimes 14 April. It is seen as a spring harvest celebration primarily in Punjab and Northern India.
Tagore Public School organized a special assembly on 12th April 2024 to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi. Students and teachers gathered in the Multi-purpose hall to mark this joyous occasion.
The assembly began with a peaceful prayer, where everyone joined together to seek blessings for a prosperous future. Following the prayer, students from Classes 3A and 3B performed a beautiful prayer song, filling the hall with melody and harmony.
Next, birthday wishes were extended to all those celebrating their special day. It was a heartwarming moment as everyone came together to share in the joy of their peers.
Grade 4B shared an insightful thought, reminding everyone of the importance of unity and gratitude, especially during festivals like Baisakhi.
A brief news update kept everyone informed about current events, followed by an inspiring speech from Grade 4A, highlighting the significance of Baisakhi and the values it represents.
The assembly continued with a lively song performance by students from Grades 4A and 4B, spreading joy and cheer to everyone present.
Lastly, students from Grades 7th and 8th took the stage with an energetic dance performance, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Baisakhi celebrations.
As the assembly came to a close, everyone left with smiles on their faces, carrying with them the spirit of unity and celebration that defines Baisakhi. It was a memorable event that brought the school community closer together, fostering a sense of camaraderie and joy.
Overall, the special assembly was a resounding success, leaving everyone feeling uplifted and inspired as they continued with their day.

‘Team Building & Promise Crafting: Educators’ Outdoor Adventure’

To foster camaraderie and reinforce the bonds among our esteemed faculty members, we organized a memorable team-building activity combined with a reflective exercise. Engaging in an outdoor game, ‘Pick the Hanky and Run’, followed by crafting promises for our beloved students, allowed us to strengthen our teamwork while reconnecting with our core purpose as educators.

Pick the Hanky and Run:
Divided into two teams, we embarked on an exhilarating game of ‘Pick the Hanky and Run’ in a lush outdoor setting. The objective was simple yet energizing: each team member had to dash, strategize, and grab the hanky before their opponents. This activity encouraged quick thinking, coordination, and healthy competition among the participants, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.

Promise Crafting for Students:
Following the spirited game, we transitioned into a reflective session where each teacher wrote down heartfelt promises to their students. These promises encapsulated our commitment to nurturing, guiding, and supporting the academic and personal growth of our learners. From pledges to listen attentively to their concerns to vows to inspire creativity and resilience, each promise served as a testament to our dedication to educational excellence and student well-being.

That is why, it is essential to have a parent orientation before the school year starts. They need to know what to expect from their children’s school and share their thoughts that will also benefit their children. In TPS, we value our students, same as their parents.

Tagore Public School, Gurugram organized an extensive Parent Orientation Program for the new parents of academic session 2024-25.
The main objective of this program was to familiarise the new parents with the Curriculum, teaching methodologies, evaluation system, co- scholastic activities, and various other programmes of the school.
The programme was attended by the school Principal, the coordinators, class teachers and parents.
The Principal Mrs. Madhu Chauhan presented an overview of the Curriculum, the Assessment pattern and the various new initiatives taken up by the school management for the students were also introduced to the parents. The co-scholastic and extra-curricular activities provided by the school were also touched upon.
The Presentations were followed by a Question- Answer session.
The Orientation was very successful as it made the parents aware of the readiness of the school to welcome the students to the new academic session.
