'Paint from your heart. Don't worry about the result or whether people will like it. The moment you paint from your heart, half the work is done and you would have done justice to your work' — Rajeev Lochan, artist, professor, and former director of National Gallery of Modern Arts.
Artist Yuriko Lochan, too, echoed these thoughts, encouraging one to let creativity flow without worrying about aesthetics.
We're honoured that the Lochans made time to join us for the preview of Urban Voices — Gurugram Chapter. We couldn't have asked for better chief guests than the talented yet humble couple. ❤️

Meet the artist: Soni Khanna
Soni Khanna's passion for art stemmed from a very young age. She pursued her graduation and post- graduation in fine arts. She even learned and gained expertise in Tanjore style of painting and then gradually turned to contemporary art.
Painting for Soni is to give expressions to her inner vision, a way of liberating herself and celebrating life. She loves capturing the innate behavior of Indian woman on her canvas with minimalistic
embellishment. The feathers and delicate figures symbolize the feminine shyness, submissiveness and warmth. The colors and strokes show another side of the woman that is often hidden - bold, confident and independent.
Khanna will be displaying her works at Urban Voices : Gurugram Chapter, only at Shailja Art Gallery.
