How we started the New Year.
Few glimpses of 1st Jan 2024.

It was my friend's birthday celebration and I was in charge of the dessert section.
I tried to make something different, something new and carried this special three layered cake which is a fusion of Turkish milk cake and Tres leches.
The top caramel jelly is very significant to the Turkish milk cake.
Tres leches in Spanish means three milk, there are three variants of Milk used in different layers.
Here the base is the moistened cake with a creamy cheesy middle layer and the top translucent jelly layer very significant to the Turkish milk cake.
𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒃𝒚 𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑵𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏 𝑮𝒖𝒓 , 𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏'𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒋𝒖𝒓 𝑮𝒖𝒓, 𝒔𝒐 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔.
I used it in place of the caramel jelly layer and the base cake layer.
It's a bit high on sweetness but it's finger licking good.

Winters are here and so is the wedding season.
Presenting these specially imported Moroccan Mejdool dates stuffed with dryfruits and paired with the right melt in mouth filling to make each one a Masterpiece.

What a beautiful day to celebrate women's day and Holi.. Have a power packed colourful day!!

Curating a menu is my most favourite part of any event I cater to.
So when Sameer sir called me and said "Sonali you have to cater at my place at the cocktail dinner party, the menu is going to be Italian and continental", my brain started working.
Within 12 hours I curated an elaborate menu based on my extensive study I have been doing for so many years. Every region in Italy has its own sauces and we worked on that.
The starters were designed differently. More vegetarian options, we had savoury mousse, pickled ladle,salad shooters , prawn crackers, cheese chicken ball with jalapeno salsa topped with crispy French fries, smoked mushrooms, goat cheese canapes, Caviar platter to name a few.
Followed by salads, soups and pastas, Fresh Truffles Risotto,which reached us just a day before the occasion and some brilliant non veg spread.
The Lobster thermidor and stuffed quail were the showstoppers.
Desserts were simple yet matched the rest of the menu. Panna cotta with molasses and rose were loved a lot. People who like the flavour of molasses just loved the twist.
Served about 150 guests, all dressed to the occasion (read cocktail and Ball room) who didn't forget to come and appreciate the food in between their dance & drinks.
I would love to thank Mrs & Mr.Kochhar for trusting me and handing over such an important part of their celebration.
