March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Colon cancer is the 3rd most common cancer across the world, and it is also the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Colon cancer is a type of cancer that impacts the colon, re**um, or a**s. The colon is the final part of the digestive tract. Colon cancer typically affects older adults, though it can happen at any age. It usually begins as small, noncancerous (benign) clumps of cells called polyps that form on the inside of the colon.
During March, we focused on raising awareness about this disease. The main aim is to encourage people to get screened early and adopt healthy habits to reduce their risk of developing colon cancer.
