for infants up to 6 months - exclusive breast feed
6 months onwards- start weaning
1. ragi -its a high calcium cereal which is easily available
liquid form- ragi in milk, ragi cerelac, sprouted ragi powder- 6-7 months
semi solid - ragi halwa, ragi porridge, ragi kheer-7-9 months
solids- ragi cheela, dosa, chapati, idli, biscuits, muffins, ladoos cakes- 8 months onwards
2. oats - its high fiber, high protein
liquid form- oats powder in milk, oats cerelac, sprouted oats biscuit in milk- 6-7 months
semi solid - oats halwa, oats porridge, oats with milk-7-9 months
solids- oats uttpam, dosa, chapati, idli, biscuits,- 8 months onwards
3. dry fruits powder - you can dry roast almonds, cashew nuts, peanuts, makhanas, walnuts, pistachios and grind to make powder
easily add it in milk, cerelacs, kherrs, ladoos. it will instantly make any meal a high protein meal
4. ghee- pure ghee can be added in cerelacs, halwa, kheer , chapati, vegetables, soups. use 1-2 tsp daily
5. banana- a banana is rich in calories, potassium, fibre. it can be easily mashed and given from 6 months onwards. you can add it in milk- milk shake or smoothies, cerelac, cakes, fruit custards or kheer
6. potato- it is a staple vegetable, can be easily boiled, mashed and given to a 6 month old baby. you can easily make halwa, paratha, chips, vegetable, finger chips
7. eggs - it provides good quality protein with calcium. you can give boiled, egg nog, omlette,
