"Sisters and brothers just happen. We don't get to choose them but they become one of our most cherished relationships." - Wes Adamson
One of the most important and beautiful relationships is between siblings, especially between a brother and a sister. Raksha Bandhan is a festival which celebrates the bond of affection between them. The word 'Rakshabandhan' is made up of two Sanskrit words 'Raksha' and 'Bandhan' translated into English, 'Rakshabandhan' means the 'knot of protection'. When a Rakhi is tied on the wrists of close friends and neighbors, it underscores the need for a harmonious social life. This helps to broaden ones vision beyond the borders of their own family to the entire earth as one family. This festival symbolises the everlasting bond between brothers and sisters that reinforces ties between them all around the globe.
The Society Of Electronics and Communication Engineering wishes you all a very Happy Rakshabandhan. Let us all pledge to love and protect one another on this joyous occasion.
"Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?" – Mahatma Gandhi.

"Yoga is the voyage of self-discovery, traversing the depths of our being, and arriving at our true essence." - Bhagwad Gita
As an ancient Indian tradition, yoga weaves together the tapestry of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Derived from the Sanskrit word "yug," meaning 'to unite', yoga represents the harmonious fusion of body, mind, and spirit—a sacred union that nourishes our entire being.

I meditate on Sri Jagannatha who is going mounted on his Ratha (Chariot) along the streets (during the Ratha Yatra festival), and the group of Brahmins start singing his Stuti (Praises). In every step of this great Yatra, his ears are open listening to the chants and his compassionate heartthrobs with the devotees. His mercy and benevolence are as mighty as the ocean. The entire populace is the progeny of such an ocean. I humbly meditate upon Sri Jagannatha Swamy who is the focus of my inner and outer visions.
On this sacred day of Rath Yatra, the resplendent Shree Jagannath Swami, Subhadra Maharani, and Baladev Swami gracefully emerge from their sanctuaries. They ascend their majestic chariots, bestowing blessings and fulfilling the fervent desires of their devoted followers. The mere glimpse of their ethereal eyes invokes an overwhelming sense of devotion, compelling all to humbly bow at their lotus feet. Rooted in a centuries-old tradition, the revered trio embark on a sacred journey to their mausi badi (aunt's home), where they dwell for seven days before retracing their path. The act of pulling the grand chariot represents the purification of one's mind and surrender to the Supreme.
On this auspicious occasion of Rath Yatra, the Electronics and Communication Engineering Society fervently prays for the eternal bliss and triumphant endeavours of all.
Fatherhood is a journey of love, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication.
Father's Day is a momentous global celebration that acknowledges and honors the vital role fathers play in our lives. It is a heartfelt occasion that reveres the unparalleled influence and impact of fathers worldwide.
This significant day serves as an opportunity to express profound gratitude, love, and admiration for the remarkable men who selflessly dedicate themselves to their families. Fathers embody unwavering support, compassionate guidance, and unconditional love. They transcend the mere roles of providers and assume the noble mantle of invaluable mentors and wise teachers. With their reservoirs of wisdom and life experiences, they gracefully navigate us through the ebb and flow of life's challenges.
Fathers, often unsung heroes, humbly shoulder immense responsibilities to ensure the well-being and happiness of their families. Their selfless efforts, quiet sacrifices, and unwavering commitment resonate deeply in the lives of those they touch.
On this auspicious occasion, the Society of Electronics and Communications Engineering extends heartfelt wishes to fathers across the globe. May their immeasurable contributions and enduring presence continue to shape and inspire generations to come.

"Freedom of thought, strength in our convictions and pride in our heritage. Let’s salute our brave martyrs on Republic Day."
Republic Day in India is celebrated on the 26th of January every year. In 1949, the Indian Constitution was accepted, and it came into force a year later. The Constitution of India is a document that lays down the fundamental principles and laws of our nation. It defines the rights and duties of citizens, and establishes the framework for our democracy. It also guarantees equality, justice, and freedom for all. On this day,India was declared as a Sovereign, Secular, Socialistic and Democratic Republic which means the people of India had the power to choose the government of the country. On this day, our President unfurls the national flag followed by spectacular military and cultural pageantry. We get to witness the rich tradition, cultural heritage, spectacle of the nation's progress and achievements. This day teaches us to respect the unity in diversity that the country and its people represent.
SECE wishes you all a very Happy Republic Day. On this auspicious day, let us all pledge to work towards building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
"I worship nature, The moon and the tides, The Sun and the stars, The energies that surround us and dwell within us, The esoteric knowledge of our natural world and its flora and fauna". This recite fits so well for every Indian when it comes to worshipping nature.
From a bouquet of celebrations on nature, the transition of the Sun to Makara Rashi has given rise to Makar Sankranti, one of the major harvest festivals celebrated all over India. Each year, India welcomes a festive cheer across the country on 14th and 15th ofJanuary as the Sun begins its northward journey, penning the name Uttarayan to this festival. The beginning of the month of Magh is marked on this day as well.
Somewhere between the yellow and blue sky which is enlivened with colourful kites, SECE celebrates this fest and wishes all a very prosperous and delightful Makar Sankranti.

Christmas is the Christian festival that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ. The term "Christmas" means "mass on Christ's Day". In actual sense, Christmas originated a few decades after the birth of Jesus in the old Roman Empire. It started in Rome in 336 AD, but did not become a major Christian festival until the 9th century. Some of the popular Christmas traditions include decorating evergreen trees ,feasting and exchanging gifts on Christmas Eve. In the United States and other countries since the early 20th century, Christmas has also been celebrated as a secular family holiday, observed by Christians and non-Christians alike, devoid of Christian elements and marked by an elaborate exchange of gifts and the legendary figure of Santa Claus. Christmas teaches us to be thankful for the bigger things in life. It is a great opportunity to give to those less fortunate.
We at SECE wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. May the spirit of Christmas bring you happiness, health and prosperity.

The benevolent festival of light is here to enliven and fill our lives with positivity. This day commemorates the 14-year exile of Lord Rama, who returned after defeating Ravana, king of the demons. The festival is traditionally celebrated by performing Puja at home followed by sharing sweets and at night we get to see the beautiful night sky lit up with firecrackers. The Goddess of wealth and prosperity, Mother Lakshmi, and Lord Ganesha, who removes all types of obstacles from our lives and grants us wisdom, are both associated with this day. May we receive the blessings of the Gods and Goddesses, and the luminous diyas brighten our lives with success, joy, and contentment.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi is celebrated to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of Prophet Mohammad. It is considered an important day for Muslims all across India as it is a reminder of the kindness, compassion and teachings of the Holy Prophet. Public gatherings customarily take place to mark this day. Religious congregations are also observed where leaders enunciate the teachings of Islam and the life of the Prophet by focusing on his teachings, sufferings, and his forgiving nature. However, while this day marks the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, its celebrations are usually not very extravagant as it also marks the death anniversary of the Prophet. The colour green represents Islam and paradise. People wear new clothes, observe prayers, and exchange greetings.

Vijaydashami also known as Dussehra marks the end of Durga Puja, and celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma. It is also renowned as the celebration for God Rama's victory over Ravana. The festival’s name is derived from the Sanskrit words dasha (ten) and hara (defeat), symbolizing the victory of good over evil.
Dussehra is celebrated with great fervour and fanfare. In North India, it incorporates Ram Lila, a gala theatrical enactment of Rama’s life story. Effigies of Ravana—often along with those of Meghnada and Kumbhkarana are stuffed with firecrackers and set ablaze at night in open fields. It reminds us that even in the midst of darkness, light persists.
On this auspicious occasion, SECE wishes you a very HAPPY DUSSEHRA !

Teachers are the foundation of anyone’s life. They are the stepping-stones that mould and nourish one’s raw talent and potential. Dedicated to teachers and the role they play in shaping their students’ lives, September 5 is annually celebrated as Teachers’ Day. The day also commemorates the birth anniversary of scholar and Bharat Ratna-recipient Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was born in 1888. He had a passion for teaching and was also awarded the Bharat Ratna. Once when some of his students asked to celebrate his birthday, Dr. Radhakrishnan told them that he would be very honoured if instead of celebrating 5th September as his birthday, they celebrated it as Teachers' Day. This truly shows how much he was dedicated to teaching and passionate about paying respect to all the teachers. It is an annual celebration to value and honour the remarkable role that teachers play in our lives.
SECE expresses gratitude to all the teachers who strive relentlessly to help their students progress.

Celebrated with much pomp and show, Ganesh Chaturdashi, also called as Vinayak Chaturdashi marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha who is the son of Lord Shiva, and Goddess Parvati.
Devotees celebrate this festival by installing clay idols of Ganesha. People chant Vedic hymns and prayers. They also observe fast and offer Lord Ganesha his favorite sweets, especially modak on all ten days. After the daily devotions to the clay idol, it is finally immersed in a body of water with great fanfare on the 10th day. Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the remover of obstacles and presides over intelligence and wisdom among the Hindu pantheon of Gods. It is believed that after the clay dissolves, Lord Ganesha returns home to his parents Shiva and Parvati.
SECE wishes everyone a wonderful day honouring Lord Ganesha. May his divine blessings bring you eternal bliss.
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!
Krishna Janmashtami, the day Lord Krishna was born, is celebrated with much pomp and fervour. According to Hindu mythology, Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born on this day to destroy Mathura's demon king, Kansa, the brother of Krishna's virtuous mother, Devaki. On this occasion, devotees observe this auspicious festival by observing a fast and praying to Lord Krishna. The fast is observed to their beloved deity and can only be broken after offering their prayers to him. Dahi Handi is a very popular game during Janmashtami. This day is observed on Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapad.
Just like this handi, may Lord Krishna strengthen your home with everlasting happiness and joy. SECE wishes you a blessed Janmashtami. May the divine grace of Lord Krishna be with you always.
